Montein - the top rated horse to declare so far MR 129
4 time winner. Last win in 2023. A grade 3 is his highest win yet.
Once over 2000 at 2024 Met 6th of 10 runners who finished.
His last three runs have been very good but over 1600m or less.
This should not be the top rated horse in the Met.
If it wins will be great for Louis the King breeders.

Trainer Michael "Muis" Roberts remains optimistic about See It Again's chances of making the starting line for the G1 Cape Town Met following a disappointing run in the King's Plate, a performance Roberts described as the most underwhelming of the star gelding's career. The Nic Jonsson-owned runner pulled up with a fetlock injury, but Roberts shared that recovery efforts are ongoing. "We're busy nursing that injury, and we're hopeful he could run in the Met," Roberts stated.

Heather’s Boy, the standout three-year-old colt from Mike de Kock’s stable, faces a lengthy recovery after sustaining a tendon injury in Saturday’s Grade 1 Cape Guineas.
De Kock confirmed the news on Monday, stating, “Heather’s Boy returned lame after the race. Scans revealed that he had injured his near-fore tendon.” The injury rules the colt out of competition for at least six months, a significant setback for the yard and his owner, Lady Christine Laidlaw.
