......16 Races in a day is rather optimistic......they tried to move heaven and earth to squeeze out a meeting today....guess that mother nature got their number......

.....naw.... looks like they want/ed to insert some of the events they missed out on today and run them on 11th.... and the whole lot have landed up on a final programme.....some of the races already carded may be postponed to a later date to make way for a max 10-11 race card.....unsure

I would think that logic dictates a combination of races - perhaps combining the 2 juv races etc

I hope the silence means that gallops were conducted and it was unanimously agreed that racing can continue and we don't have 1 race and then unanimously agree it's unsafe

I'd say that it does not appear that the concern is the current state of the track - who knows what that is as the 'authorities' said it was good to soft at the Vaal earlier in the week, but as soon as the horses returned after the first race, the jockeys were adamant that it is a soft track - any way be that as it may, the weather predictions are for 'heavy showers' - so even if they do get through the first couple of races, chances are it would be abandoned later (as the jocks in this country are spoilt imo) - to add to that, many horses (apart from those at 'private establishments' - and who knows if they were able to work) would not have been able to work - some training establishments have treadmills - but imo nothing beats a work-out .... so a guessing game - perhaps the concentration should be on the Cape meeting - and rather take one's chances with the competitive handicaps at that venue - at least most of the runners would turn up ready to do battle - and based on yesterday's results, one could do worse than concentrate on the Fourie and Zackey mounts
