Not an easy card but an interesting day's racing.
race 1 The well bred Starting Point has been priced up favourite, and a couple of other nice first timers. Of the raced runners Call of the Karoo stands out
Race 2. Simbine has solid form and a plum draw so is the one to beat. of the raced runners. A couple of first timers could spoil the party. I'm hoping that Caribbean Gold can overcome her draw and show enough improvement on her decent debut to fight out the finish.
race 3 Green Gateway good debut win in KZN. Hard to assess but must be respected. Scottish Kiss good form and could get the hattrick today. Tricky race.
Race 4 I don't understand how Lady Veritas can be 20/1- she has the best form in the race, a plum draw and 4kg claim. The stable companion Nicci's Law has a tough draw but also gets a 4kg claim. Lots of lightly raced improvers to consider.
race 5  Rare Earth is no star but is best in at the weights and won't get a better chance to shed her maiden. Quite open if she fails.
Race 6 Very competitive race and need to go wide in exotics. Baton Rouge solid form, good draw and 4kg claim is first pick. A whole bunch ran close to Heal and Sole last time and any from that formline could win. Ahead of the Facts stays all day but may need this. Double Dash needed her last and can upset at a big price.
Race 7 Another open race. Aversator has top juvenile form and gets a good draw. Must be respected if not needing this run.
Race 8 Kaalvoet good juvenile form and has his first run in the Cape. Carries a very big weight but if fit and well can defy that and win. Many others with chances.
Race 9  Sardinia bay is on the up and is the one to beat although not a great draw. Open if he fails.
