Well thanks to Dave my trainer was invited to watch the start replay of this race with head Stipe Dave Durrant this am.
The story Ive been given is that the jockey had the horse on a very tight hold as the gates open which caused her to flyjump away slow. Secondly the jockey kept holding the horses head held down for the next 6 strides until he let her go which caused another many lengths lost.
Lets hope the Stipes redo their official report..but more importantly to me is that the horse was favourite and surely to goodness there has to be an investigation into this ride..the horse was held up tightly by the jock until she had no chance to get into the sprint.
If not are they going to refund the punters their money who backed her (thankfully I didnt).
