It looks like Fransie Naude would be the man to follow riding 4 of the 8 race favs, the best one being Humvee, for the banker?

Is he on the bus?

Elvis fly yr daughter down in future my mate..this kinda thing would worry me..I mean really and truly how totally unprofessional can it get?

Does the tote turnover and profit these people generate that are on the bus not justify a free return plane ticket?

Need I remind anyone about that sad day in April 1988 when jockeys and horse racing officials had to charter a DC-10 from Bloemfontein to Jhb.

Back then I'm not sure if it was TAB Transvaals duty to take care of the Jocks or if it was the Racing Association or the Jockey club more likely.

Be that as it may I just hope this does not happen again sometime due to officials, whomever they may be, not spending the money they should be on one of the games biggest assets!

Nuff said.................

Sadly i know nothing about anything of how jockeys get to where they need to be on the day.. But i did assume seeing that its the trainers that want the jockey to ride that day that it was them who paid plane tickets or even the jockey club that organized travel arrangements.?

We don't see the logistical nightmare that trainers and jockeys have to put up with. During the season at peak time you well may see plenty of helicopters at race courses. Some of these are for jockeys who have other engagements at other meetings around the country. On any given day on the motorways a A routes of Britain you will see horse boxes travelling up and down the country. Its a great job but there are many downsides and travelling must be one of the major downers.

Morning all ok !the time has come to name and shame PROTOURs! Its a disgrace! Over the last 2 months the buses used to transport the jockeYS TO kimberly has gone from bad to to disgusting! From a heater not working to a bus that had you taken it there and then to do a cof (a roadworthy test)i dont think it would have passed it!should shocks and air system be checked before leaving? Breaks are another story and the smell of burning rubber?makes one wonder. Protours is as ive been told one of the top tour coach groups ja right haha! Go read their web site! They state that they present their drivers and buses with pride! And that all buses are checked before leaving their depo!ja right. It costs p 14k a trip!not cheap at all! I would like to ask god for bid should the bus have been involved in a head on etc and the jockey are hurt! Will the insurance companys pay out if the bus was found to be unroadworthy? Anyway im very greatful for been allowed to use the bus when racing in kimberly! The vibe on the bus is great! Lets hope this is sorted out soon!i would say lets use future coaches, gray hound or atlas or better yet get our own bus!just my thoughts on this matter! Nicky Radford
