Dancing Arrow R10 Scottsville

Had a punt on this horse for places when it was 16/1 (fixed odds) listened to the commentary on the way home, and heard it called home second. Went to check my account and find it a losing bet, went to the run ons on tabgold.co.za to see it placed last with NONR in the distance column. What does this mean? Does anyone know what happened? Surely this should at least be a refund?

I just got to work and found the same thing........

I bankered Dancing Arrow in a QT and took anothr qt with Dancing arrow and kenmare house for first and second....

I also had a small bet on the nose!!!

I should get refunded for my expenditure unless it ran and got disqualified??

Did the rider forget to weigh in or something?????????????

That is money done in cold, cold blood!!!!

Surely they should do an investigation before letting the punters do their money in cold blood?

If Musi is found guilty then he should be held responsible, same as if the trainer is found guilty then he should be held liable....in the end, we gets f$%%ed?????

You guessed it.....Us the punters.

Oh well, rules are rules I guess.

sometimes weights fall out of bags in the race etc - did not see it but had a similar mishap years ago when weights fell out in running - no malice that day not sure here!

Mr. Hawaii,

I'm sure these things happen, but there should be an investigation before punters lose their money in cold blood.

Rather scratch the horse and then follow up to see if the action was malicious or an accident.

If they can suspend an appy for a year for drinking then they can ward off a jockey for 2 years for cheating!!!! (If found guilty of course)

In this regard the only people who loose are the people who backed Dancing Arrow...............

Pisses me off to no end!!

agree it's not a murder case so five minutes in the board room to check the fact that the weigh-in was late- non-runner rule refund punter then full investigation later and punishment where necessary(if it is found Jock/trainer/handler etc was malicious/negligent then fine them the equvilant of the stakes lost to the owner and award money to owner unless he is also the trainer(and the trainer was guilty of causing the problem)- to us poor punters i don't know? we suffer together i suppose

Sometimes I think that we have no individual thinkers in our industry, we simply have a bunch of followers.
Somebody wrote a rule one day and they blindly follow that rule, even though better amendments can be made where everybody can benefit from.

Rather have them disqualify the horse and disqualify the punters money with it.

Why, oh why should a punter sitting in a tote somewhere be fouled because of what a jockey/trainer/groom may or may not have done!!!!

Why not let money carry forward on scratched runners too. I scratch my horse, but the money bet on it at that stage will stand....Sort of the same thing don't you think???

Youre right about one thing....the punters suffer together. No end to the naivite!!!! (French for "blerrie blind!!!!")

This wasn't the jockey's fault. Apparently the person who saddled did not put the lead bag on. Muzi rides with a gel weight pad and a led bag - he would have been oblivious to fact until he unsaddled.

With the way he is riding lately(trying everywhere it seems) I'm sure he would not have wanted any problems as he is just getting better and better - (not connected to this incident but I have had the pleasure of meeting the little guy at work at the Vaal and he's the kind of POSTER BOY that I would be parading in townships and totes to encourage young 'black' punters to become more involved in the game. Got a mate that puts him in bets almost religiously - Nice guy with a good head on his shoulders)

If you had a punt on this horse you could never win.
If he had run unplaced you would lose your money, no questions asked.
Once he has to weigh in, he is disqualified and you lose your money.
Support this “sport of kings” at your peril.

The new tote rules are that if the horse is disqualified for any reason (weighin in lighter, the gates opening faster, etc), it will be placed last but not scratched.

I do not agree with such a rule as it is against the punters but it is there and we have to live with it!

Sorry if you did your money! Muzi is usually a good rider, I doubt it it was done on malice or any other intention...
