why has the very popular winning weekdays with laff and goodman been discontinued..what a pleasure listening to 2 trainers preview a meeting and give their views..what happened does anybody know or was it because of this new pretorious program that attempts to preview meetings..for me the punter suffers yet again..

If true, rightly so. To pretend that is all is well with the tote is like standing in a smoke-filled room and pretending that the building isn't on fire.

Yes an excellent show, it was sponsored by Fourie's, I am sure Colin posted that it had been canned?

We at FSC Online have sponsored a show called Winning Weekdays for the the past 5 months...it is a preview of past runs of the fancied horses for the mid week meeting for KZN. Tellytrack airs the show at 9am sometimes 8am. Almost all totes open at earliest 11am....only select few who have DSTV have seen our show.

The same will apply to this show, which I believe is the reason why Nico and TellyTrack are shelving our show at the end of the month.

My tote in Pietermaritzburg opens at 10am daily, we will even miss the broadcast...nice idea copied from our show but a waste of time if aired at times advertised.

thanks for the reply colin it sounds like these tossers at tellytrack cant handle anything decent that is done outside their studios and as you correctly put it they should be airing it when the totes open but they air that cart shit and their own pathetic program ..at the end of the day it sounds like these egotistical little men who run tellycrap havent got the punters best interest at heart..why am i not surprized..next it will be winning ways to be canned as it is way better than any show tellytrack produces..

Afternoon all,

We believe that winning weekdays was informative for punters in that firstly you got the views of trainers as to what they felt about other peoples horses and sometimes from a bookmakers point of view, as well as reminded the punters of the run of the fancied horses by showing the last 400m of previous races. We sponsored the program so the cost to Tellytrack was minimal and I am still a believer that the more information you can supply punters to enable them to make an informed choice the better it is for everyone. The punter has more chance of picking a winner and the tote and bookmakers will do more turnover .
I can see why the powers that be battle to get sponsors etc. After the first show was done it was pulled from been aired as Gold Circle had not recieved proper authority from Tellytrack and we then had to threaten to go see lawyers before it was agreed that we would be given a 6 month contract to do the show with a possobility of maybe having it renewed. I feel we were treated almost with contempt after that in that it was sometimes put onto the loop on a Tuesday night and shown at 915am on the Wednesday and when they didnt feel like it they did not include it in the loop and only showed it at 915am.(often not even advertising it in their line-up for the next day) To date other than by recieving a copy of an internal email from Nico to Graham Hawkins and Raymond Rogers "to please advise their sponsor that the show will be taken off the air from end of February as they have a new daily show starting", I have had no communication from anyone. How do they hope to get people to sponsor shows/races when they dont have the decency to officially give you notice and maybe even thank you for a positive input and that maybe we could do something together in the future.

Wow. What an indictment of these people who run our sport.

Maybe what all you guys say is true, that these people would never cut it in the real world if they were accountable to produce in a competitive world. They would just fail.

Are we supposed to be surprised? There are some good people in the industry, but also enough dead wood to start a lumber yard.
