Never mind that I was in Bosman St when Prinsloo(bookie) wanted to kill him due to a call that went something like "the bookies are dead the punters are taking the bread" in the final furlong................lol

Its just the same as "breathing fire", etc, etc,

I think that we would need to write to Carte Blanche for a copy. Do want to give a go Hibs?

I have sent a request through to Carte Blanche and copied a link to this thread on my request to them. Let's hope for the best. Who knows, they may even read this and take up the story!

Now wouldnt that be something for ABC

I disagree, although don't want to knock his comentary skills. Craig Peters was the first to use poetry in commentating with statements like "He's on a spree, that's number three." etc. Smiley copied him and sometimes went overboard. Imo Clyde Basel also clearly inherited his style from Peters. Craig Peters and Trevor Denman are imo the best commentators to come out of SA when it comes to a combination of voice and efficiency. As far as efficiency goes Graeme Hawkins matches them. Peters isn't as appreciated as much today as he was in the days of no visuals in off course venues - his ability to enliven the race, his accuracy in spotting winners from someway out and his accuracy in seperating close horses was outstanding. He wasn't known as "Eagle Eye" for nothing. That's not to mention the poetry and other entertaining catch phrases he introduced without overdoing them.

The one commentator in CT loves to mention that the horses make the turn and "Greet the judge"

Hello Judge says the horse Am I running in a straight line? "yes Pocket Power all ok" "now you have a good day" "thanks Mr Judge, see you next time"

@Scotia:

If RA was serious about addressing issues form the stakeholders, it would have intervened and called for resolution.

What's the use if the courts now decide; I just hope a whole lot of muck comes out not only to embarass the industry, but also for Government to get off its bloody backside and intervene decisively! Then, nobody must complain; if you let the courts decide, then Government also can/must be brought in since the industry cannot regulate itself objectively!

To date, the RA has not addressed/acknowledged any of the questions I raised.... says a lot about transparency and divide and rule!
