I seem to always read about different departments within Phumelela. They have marketing, management, betting, PR, HR, cleaning, outlets....ect.

How about they get a department that address the problems out there..........Lets list them.

1) Bus/plane to kimberley and the general rules of kimberley racing. (Who may nominate what and when)
2) Speak to GC about starting stalls and sort out starting stall issues in PE.
3) Sort out the tote issues with regards to payouts and comingling. (how many R1-00 a place horses were there this weekend on 3rd or 4th favourites?)
4) Keep someone up to date with internet issues like bloggers ect.
5) Sort out telly betting center.

I could go on. They need a problem solver who can tackle each of these issues and find not only an amicable solution but the most cost effective one as well.

I wonder if anybody out there in "P" land thinks of anything but revenue?

The ''Problem Department'' would have to be the largest in the P business structure Tommy....

How did these fools ever think they would start racing at 1.30 when it is clear now that that would have been absolutely impossible?:S

Guys I don't really think we can blame P on this one today. If the plane doesn't take off / get there in time.... their hands are tied.

But I agree dont totally stuff up the revised starting times that were IMPOSSIBLE as to what they put on the web.

The question is why do some use the bus and others fly?

" officials " fly, the rest go by bus or private transport. I guess it's too expensive to fly the whole lot - about 12 handlers or so & say 15 jocks, the photographer

Racing has become completely reliant on the "whether" ...........whether it storms or whether the authorities cock it up!

How can you arrange for essential officials to arrive last minute, with no time allowed for delays?
