Murray, Federer and Nadal in same half of draw so Djoker will be able to win easy and conserve energy all the way to the final while the others clock up time on court in 40+ degree heat trying to beat each other...

Would like to see a change at the top as it is getting a bit boring waiting for quarters onwards...

Nishikori, Raonic and Dmitrov will have their supporters but will find it hard to have a sustained run having to beat 2 of the big guns unless they fold earlier to open up the draw...this is one tournament where limiting time on court in early rounds matters due to heat...and Nishikori, Raonic and Dmitrov will expend too much energy before quarters to trouble big 4...

On the ladies side, any one of top 8 seeds can win it...really think that Halep or Bouchard will win a Grand Slam this year and then there are the perennial contenders in Williams and Sharapova...
My pick though is Petra Kvitova...has the power to blast anyone off the court and movement (was her biggest weakness) has improved greatly in last 6-9 months...two time Wimbledon champ now so knows how to win and knows how to handle expectation...

Was that 10 seeds out yesterday? must be some kind of record for a first day...

Is this the end for Federer ?

Federer trying to keep himself going till 2016 Olympics in hope of winning the one title to still elude him...Olympics SINGLES Gold...

Same problems as 2 years ago...half a step too slow and the unforced errors pile up...Federer had 55 unforced errors today...give credit to Seppi though as he had a terrible H2H but still believed and played like he could win and took his chances well...

Tournament will still be won by Djokovic and, among the ladies, Kvitova with Halep or Bouchard presenting threats...

Kvitova out...Halep out...Bouchard out...women's draw looked tough...

Djokovic still in though...saw Berdych use Nadal to clean the court today...awesome power on groundstrokes...

And Djokovic wins another Australian Open...still needs the French Open for career grand slam...this year will be best chance at French Open as Nadal's knees are shot...Nadal probably has a year of two at most on the courts before he packs it in to avoid permanent damage...and Federer hasn't won a grand slam in 3-4 years now so unlikely that he will win another unless draw opens for him...and Murray beats himself too often...and the youngsters are a year away...

All in all Djokovic's time to cash in...may just be good enough to win the Grand Slam this year !!

Djokovic was amazing, Murray played his part but its like a Ferrari and a Porshe both amazing but the Ferrari is just wow
