Awesome Naresh...
Nothing wrong with Serena standing up for her rights as a Women..
She`s probably the greatest Women`s tennis player of all time... But what she done last night was terrible and very disrespectful to Naomi

I could agree that she is / was the greatest women player of her era - but imo the way she 'performed' last night was disgraceful and had nothing to do with her 'rights as a woman'; that type of behavior does not belong on any sports field - and what was even more disgusting was the attitude of many of the spectators towards Osaka - shame on them. This type of hysteria is unfortunately seemingly part of the US media - anything to get those ratings up - when Koepka won the PGA, his achievment got so overwhelmed by the hype about Tiger, it was actually laughable

Serena is just a bad loser with anger problems
“she has never cheated” – but her coach said he did try to do just that (and that he often does)
Called the ump a thief and a liar – code violation
Then he becomes a sexist – she just doesn’t know when to shut up (reminds me of a blonde I know)
In the 2011 USA open she told the ump (when losing to Stosur) “she’s clearly an unattractive person inside” when a few decisions went against her.
The foot fault incident in 2009, screaming and swearing at the lines person like a banshee.
Etc. etc.

I watched the match and Serena Williams was getting beat and badly at that...maybe her ego couldn't take the beating and so she was looking for an out...the umpire robbed me...
The reality is that she robbed Naomi Osaka her moment of celebration, not the umpire...
And it wouldn't be the first time she has responded in this manner when staring defeat in the face...
Political correctness has people so gripped by fear that very few people of prominence are calling out Serena for fear of the backlash that would come their way and so people have become sycophants drumming out the same platitudes to soothe fragile egos...
A world gone mad...
The wrong thread but I am going to bring to Clanners attention that a couple in their 80's were attacked in their home, 3 doors from my parents' home in Tongaat (KZN North Coast), on Saturday afternoon.
The uncle was killed from that stab wounds inflicted (funeral tomorrow) and the aunt was so badly injured that she had to have her eye removed today so don't know if she will be able to attend funeral of person she spent 50+ years of her life with (I'm from that generation that called everyone older than me and unrelated "uncle" and "aunt"). I was in the same class as their son from pre-school to Matric, we played league and representative sport together and so knew the parents very well and it is sickening that this is what happened to them in the winter of their lives when they could do nothing to defend themselves...much the same happened to the wife's grandaunt (86 year old) +-2 years...
There is an anger that is fermenting in the community and many innocents are going to be on the wrong end of it...

My sincere condolences to you, and your friend's family, may they find the strength to deal with this terrible and senseless ordeal.

@Felix...many thanks...
I normally have my emotions in check but this has upset me immensely...not just because I know the persons so well but because they were helpless to defend themselves...and my parents, in their 70's, stay 3 doors away so one's concerns and worry increases many times over as we are not with them to be able to offer any protection should the same come to their door...
