CHELTENHAM DAY ONE 🥳

#879003
Good morning all and the CHELTENHAM festival has eventually arrived.

I have posted many articles as a build up and glad to report that I have a couple of ATC’s running on STATE MAN and LOSSIEMOUTH, so no more punting on these two hotties required from me on day one.

Day one race summary

Race 1
WIllie Mullins should dominate the festival and could well start the ball rolling.
He has a strong hand with Tullyhill and Mystical Power topping the boards also to consider, Firefox (Elliott) and Slade Steel for Rachael Blackmore.
My selection is Mystical Power (Galileo/ Annie Power) take a win place to cover your bet.

Race 2
We would all love to see the Hollywood team leading in ll Etait Temps (Mullins).
Others in with a big chance are Gaelic Warrior, Found A Fifty and Hunters Yarn.
My selection is Gaelic Warrior (Mullins) also take an ew to cover the bet.

Race 3
This is an extremely open event Meetingofthewaters (Mullins) was hampered at the first jump last time and is worth another chance.
Expect a big quartet payout in the race.
My selection is Meetingofthewaters and is another ew punt.

Race 4
The Champion Hurdle and STATE MAN (Mullins) is impossible to oppose after the scratching of Constitution Hill and Irish Point can follow the multiple group one winner home.
My selection is STATE MAN in your ATC’s bets and take Irish Point for exacta.

Race 5
LOSSIEMOUTH is also very hard to beat and only Ashroe Diamond can give it a race.
So another winner for Mullins/Townend combination.
My selection LOSSIEMOUTH in your ATC bets

Race 6
This is a potential “field” race in your exotics
My selection is Liari for a win and place .

Race 7
I regard this as a match race between Corbett’s Cross and Embassy Gardens with only Salvador Ziggy to break them up.
My selection is the swinger 1 and 2.

Remember this is a 4 day festival with 28 races and try not to blow your kitty on day one.
Enjoy all the races whether you have a punt or not as some of these clashes will be spectacular and look forward to the cheer from the capacity crowd when they jump.

Good Punting

Race 1 : Slade Steel looks the right one for the De Bromhead/ Blackmore combination and the Irish should be one up after the 1st

Race 2 : Quilixios should run well for the De Bromhead /  Blackmore combination but I will be eachway on Master Chewy in a race that looks tailor made for a big result , play wide

Race 3: Now this is a real handicap , Victtorino has one of my favourite jocks Charlie Deutsch on top and will be my eachway @ 16/1 , the booking of Harry Cobden on the Kim Bailey trained Trewlawne looks significant and will be my cover bet @ 8/1

Race 4 and 5 look to be favorable results but if one is to get beat then Lossiemouth looks the one to let the punters down,  would be the shock of the week to see State Man get beat

Race 6: The Boodles has always been one of my favorites for the upsets and this is no expection , Harsh for JP Obrien should run well at a massive price , will include Ose Partir and Balboa in all bets

Race 7: Corbetts Cross is fancied by all and sundry to win the last after falling last year at the last when looking the winner , at the price I will be with Mr Vango who is the only runner to win over the longer distance , the trainer sadly past away last week and this would be a fitting send off for him @ 20/1 this could get us in front for day 2

With the paucity of TV sport during midweek, one would of thought that Multichoice/DSTV could have allocated a channel for ITV's Cheltenham feed.
The vibe between races is much better than Royal Ascot.
Maybe ir is asking too much.
