Electrically Powered Binoculars was created by easy
Can someone in the know please ask Sheldon where he purchased his Electricity Depended Binoculars.

For years I have been relying on my Bushnell's but now knowing that there are ones powered by electricity
available on the market Im keen to purchase a pair.

Maybe try the Dali range... Ridiculously expensive, but not much they cannot do.. probably be cheaper if you went direct from USA...

Minolta used to make them. I owned a pair in the 1990's.

They were ideal for horse racing as the magnification was only 7 or 8 (as opposed to the normal 10 - 16) but the angle was very wide. Consequently the image was pin sharp and movement/shake was not exaggerated as it is with higher magnification binoculars.

They also had a fixed, moulded body which eliminated continual micro re-adjustments and were very comfortable 'on the nose'.

The zoom was either manual or electric. I preferred manual as it allowed me to remove the batteries and further reduced the weight of the binoculars.

They were much lighter than standard binoculars so you didn't get a neck/headache if you left them hanging around your neck.

I designed a special 'harness' (which fitted around the chest and shoulders in similar fashion to a shoulder holster so there was no pressure on the neck) and got a leather worker to make it for me. It worked a treat and, apart from a horizontal breast strap, was almost invisible if you were wearing a jacket.

Unfortunately my car was broken into one evening after racing and they were stolen. I was never able to replace them. By then we had simulcasts so it was not that much of a loss in practical terms.

I think this was referring to the barrier trial where they had load shedding.
