Those LQP Tellytrack Inserts...... was created by Garrick
Am I the only one being driven up the wall by the LQP advertorials which have been incessantly rammed down our throats by Tellytrack in recent weeks? They were informative and novel when they started but have now become really irritating.

For me they highlight a number of issues :

1.) The operator cannot believe its luck that it actually still has a sponsor (through no effort of its own) for one of its major races. Most of the others 'got out of Dodge' as soon as they became familiar with the operators' business manners or lack thereof.

2.) Tellytrack has a remarkably small viewership relative to other sports channels. So repeatedly telling the only group who probably are already aware of the upcoming event is overkill.

3.) The inserts themselves make interesting viewing as an exercise :

Firstly we have Katherine Gray. She is well spoken and tells us in clear, easy to listen to style about the festival and what is on offer. Am I also allowed to say in this PC era that she is also very easy on the eye? Well - she is.

And then we are inflicted with Kevin Sommerville. Thankfully he has a job because he wouldn't make it on TV. I am sure he is good to animals and children blah, blah, blah. But as a front man for his employer on TV he is shocking. His inserts are absolutely riddled with 'um', 'er' and 'you know'. Well, Kevin, I don't know and was hoping you would tell me. It's excruciating and everytime he comes on you wait for the next 'You know'. You don't have to wait long as they pour out of his mouth in an uninterrupted stream.

He is not solely to blame. This was no off the cuff parade ring interview but clearly a planned promotional event. I would hope that the content was scripted and even rehearsed. Who produced this error littered rubbish? Did he actually have the temerity to charge the sponsor for it? There is absolutely no excuse for putting out such poor quality.

Hi Garrick. Your point 2). The adverts have also been flighted over several DSTV channels, like Im sure I saw on the History channel, reaching out to other non-racing ladies and gents. A much better marketing strategy.

Good to learn that. Pity about the bumbling presentation.

.....I find these LQP inserts far more refreshing than the TT soccer sh!t rammed down our throats(FIRED INTO EYEBALLS and with a monotone drone)... ..and as easy as Katherine Grey is on the eye ....even without make up this year......she can tell me bedtime stories with her silky smooth but refreshing voice....... .....as for Kevin he may still be appealing eye candy to the few doyen ducks still left in the game... ...however productions such as these are wasted on the racing and betting channels.....I do hope they are flighted on mainstream TV and internet streaming targeting the intended young trust fund wannabes.....but alas the idea is there but the targets are not.... and it looks like again good advertising money down the drain......:(

My idea of "help from above" is a sniper on the roof
and a higher power is a hell fire missile armed drone.

They flight these adverts non stop during morning racing and evening races, which must be the dumbest concept ever.. Really, do they even understand their target audience. This type of advert is actually wasted on Tellytrack in general, but more so in these slots, especially looped to no end between the amazing *cough* soccer tips.
