I think Afridis great grandmother once flew over Cape Town.

Dave in South Africa Xenophobia is a big issue, lots of foreigners are getting killed in the townships after starting their businesses there. Pakistani's in South Africa which number in their tens of thousands. Theres a place called Fordsburg in Johannesburg where you can call that a little Pakistan. In fact the majority of the barber shops in Gauteng are now owned by Pakistanis. Same like Grant Elliot seeking a better opportunities so are the droves of other people in Africa and Pakistan coming to South Africa to make a better life. As I mentioned in another post Imraan Tahir is married to a South African and as known her for 18 years. He maybe not born in South Africa but has a huge South African connection and by the way he stayed in a place called Isipingo Beach numerous years which is close to Durban and near my hometown that I grew up in.

Greg, one consolation is that we now have a 12/1 bet on the Aussie's to beat India. Might take a bit of cover at 2/1 India.

Good idea with India Shrek... ;)

Thanks Bob, you have to ride that wave for as long as you are on it. As we all know we can get thrown off at anytime and can't back a winner in a one horse race.

There's only one quarter to blame and that is the selectors.

You NEVER mess with a winning formula.

Taking an in-form Abbott out of the XI and putting in Philander was suicidal.

We were always in the game, right up until that last ball so on the bright side you can't call this a choke.

This was probably the best squad we've had in a tournament (barring Parnell and Behardien who I feel were lucky to be included) and this was probably our best shot. I think the Aussies are going to be hard to beat at home.

Still think I was more heartbroken in 1999 as a 10-year-old when Alan Donald had just been run-out.

I have been reading many reports about the match and the make up of the South African team. Lots of people are implying that the team is not the best because of the so called quota system. I say crap.

Strange that there was no calling for the dropping of Steyn who was out of form from the word go. The same applied to De Kock.

It would be great if NZ beat Australia in the final as that would sicken the Aussies for decades.

Aussies look like they will get around 375. If so that will take something special from the Indians to chase that down.
