Let's enjoy the good football ..........

agree.
Even as a United supporter I was disgusted at the way we lost . I thought it was a sure bet. Since i had a good run on the PA bet since Thursday, I bet 3000/5000 on United.
As a punter I am disappointed but in the future I rather stick to the PA bet

Agra do yourself a favour the next time you want to bet on the football and that is go to our WSB comp thread and see what the guys who enter have predicted. Seek the ones that are common amongst the predictions and punt on that as there are some on ABC that really know their football.

I cannot accept that there is match fixing in The Premier League.

A few weeks ago I read Denis Laws autobiography. In the dressing room before his first away game at Anfield Busby told the team "Whatever you do when defending in front of the Kop don't touch any of their players." True enough somebody went down in front of the Kop and to a man they all shouted 'Penalty" and the ref gave it. Home crowds can affect decisions. After all how can 30,000 people be wrong and the ref doesn't want to look an idiot.

PS. If anybody wants to make money on football bets just do the opposite to anything that I might from time to time say. I take a yankee on 4 draws and get 4 away wins. An ATC on 8 home wins and get 4 draws and 4 away wins.

apparently there is unrest in the Man United camp as players are questioning LVG call to take off di Maria and also asking why he did not sign a centre back. When the manager loses the dressing room then either one or two things follow. The team start losing as they are not happy with the situation or the manager drops players. In the United case I think that Rooney will be on the bench in this weekends match v WHU as LVG has to make a bold statement otherwise his position will be compromised.

If Van Gaal can't get United in top four this year,it will be catastrophic for the club..

We are witnessing the decline of one of the great teams, the yanks won't bankroll again
in January and I can see the club slipping into prolonged mediocrity.

Who knows, they may go the way of Leeds and Blackburn. But that won't matter to the masses of United supporters, they will just follow their local teams or go back to watching cricket.

Despite the fact he spends nearly all his time talking somewhat repetitively and boringly about Man Utd rather than talking about his own club, I believe DTF does indeed "follow" Chelsea. Because of the tiresome fctor, not just with DTF, I have been reading and hearing the same childish, story-seeking bullshit for ever and a day now, I just yawn and move on, But occasionally even gentle little flowers need a petal or two plucked lol

So let me lay down a couple of facts. Yes, facts, not the normal bullsh1t seen on these threads. DTF's latest bit of so-called "banter" seems to refer to Man Utd fans being glory hunters. Hmmm...

- Chelsea have doubled to trebled their average home attendance since the mid 1990s. It is now just over 40,000. Ground building has little to do with the increase as, except in brief periods of success, they always had a relatively small, but loyal, following.

- Since the mid 1990s I believe Chelsea have won 15 major trophies in approx 20 years (11 of which have been won since a certain individual, who is apparently of questionable integrity, bought the club in 2003).

- Prior to the mid 1990s Chelsea had won 6 major trophies in 90 odd years.

Strange how there seems so many new Chelsea fans since they started a period of trophy winning. Could these "newbies" perhaps all be labelled glory hunters? Fark me, that would be approximately half of their fan base and seemingly continuing to grow. Can't be too much longer before the glory hunters massively outnumber the old loyal boys. Wow. How blardy hypocritical does that make all the squealing kiddies going on about Man U fans sound?

- Particularly strange when considering Man Utd's average attendance has only once dipped below 35,000 since the end of WW2. Their one season in Division 2, ending in 1975, saw an average attendance of not far off 50,000.

- Chelsea were last in Division 2 in 1989, they averaged just over 15,000. Yup 15,000 you read correctly. In fairness, they were really a comparatively little club, up and down between Division One and Two, dwarfed by London's much bigger clubs, Spurs and Arsenal. 15,000, well well well

The glory hunter centres undoubtedly can currently be found at the Etihad Stadium and, as quite clearly demonstrated above, Stamford Bridge. Shock, horror lol but, lets be honest, its no real surprise is it?

Do United have a glory hunter element? Of course they do, as did Liverpool before them, any team that has success gets additional followers, people generally like winners. Its not like a big puzzle to work out, its simple common sense! lol But let's not be hypocritical and talk crap eh... :)

@ Englander - Dave is not sledging Man Utd. Like myself, he is showing his concerns that the future is deeply worrying. I think it is...

....and you actually believe that.

ONCE AND FOR ALL.

DON'T CONCERN YOURSELVES WITH WHAT YOU HAVE NO INTEREST IN. Your teams need your support more than ManUnited.

Engles,or is it Rafa..FACTS,FACTS,FACTS

You like him have made a few errors on your facts.

Average attendance for Chelsea.

1999 34,700
1998 32,900
1997 26000
1996 25000
From 1993,there was major ground developments, hence low averages.

I know this Engles, because I actually go to the games, being a local lad.

From 2003,it's been around 41,000.

In fact the highest averages were in 1947-1955 and 1970.
