Final group stage matches this week
Some important matches
Group A Juventas still need a point but can also still win the group if they gub Athletico..
GroupB Liverpool and Basel fight for second place, liverpool must win
GroupC Monoco just need a draw against Zenit, Zenit can go through if they win
GroupD nothing much to play for
Group E Man City have it tough, they must beat Roma and hope things go to form in Germany
Group F Barca and PSG playoff for the group winners prize
GroupG Chelsea are through but Shalke can still get through if they beat Maribor and things go their way elsewhere
GroupH settled
So bets structured around the important games

I am very tempted to have a bet on Basle at nearly 4/1 but Liverpool have the luck in these vital champions league matches and are likely to win the match with two late goals as usual

I feel Basel will try catch pool on the counter, they only need a draw to qualify... Have a wee stab at Anderlecht to draw against Dortmund, the Germans are not at there best and a draw is all they need to win there group tonite. Anderlecht will have a go at them even if it is only for pride.

if Dortmund draw then Arsenal will have to win 7-0 in Turkey to finish top. I think that Wenger realises that that wont happen thus he has left 5 regulars at home

Basel 3,4,5 - 0,1
They aren't the best away from home in Europe but worth risking with L^^^^'s current "jitters"
Agree that Arsenal could get beaten tonight, depending on the strength of the team put out. Will probably wait til the line-ups are announced but could well do Galat with the same scores despite them not looking at their best this year, the atmosphere could also unnerve one or two Gooners if they don't have much experience
have a feeling both Atletico and Zenit will win, though the former may play "safe" with team selection

yeah its been dead as a door mouse, what with Magi in retirement as well and the ARM gang not around for awhile we have had to keep ourselves occupied by watching the DTF and Colors saga unfold. The Bloue Bulle lot got so pissed off with me that they we no longer talk and the twins from Durban are as deluded as ever regarding their superman. Hardly any United fans left as they all support Chelsea now (so nobody to wind up) as Englander and Agra don't get worked up anymore.

Chicken, I have long said that give me a semi-decent, honest chat on football and I am happy to contribute. Knock a team and their supporters when they are down, for the most part (there are genuinely funny exceptions) with childlike 30 year old "funnies", drivel out the same old clap-trap about glory hunters, bias refs and the like and my interest dwindles rapidly. Some may enjoy it, fair enough but I don't see it and I definitely don't enjoy it. Bah humbug man, that's me
Demand the sacking of proven managers like Wenger (especially as United seem to be proving to a degree that very good ones are hard to find), jump on the back of Rogers when things start going pear shaped (even though it was, to an extent, entirely predictable) and refer to Martinez as a much better manager than Moyes for Everton based on half-a-season against a decade or whatever and I really think people don't know what they are talking about.
Would you sit in a looney asylum for an hour a day trying to chat sensibly with people? Ok, ok, yes you probably would but most of us wouldn't lol
Imo, it is not entirely the fault of these managers etc, though I may be being kind in saying that. To me, the standard of the EPL seems to have plummeted in the last 5 years but I also have a feeling it is a world-wise disease rather than just the EPL. Serie A has been poor for some time, the Spanish were looking good but now it seems to be pretty much back to the Real and Barca show, though even they look vulnerable at times now, Bayern are totally dominant in Germany and the last two WCs have shown imo the distinct lack of top class defenders in world football. What's going wrong?
