When the teams start the second half, the clock continues from the 46th minute and if anyone does score for the first time in this period, you still within the time bracket as the time for the goal scored within the next 5 minutes must read 46, 47, 48, 49 or 50. So one could buy as much time as the earlier stoppage dictated.

Now this may appear dishonest, however (say) you played the period 11 - 20 and there was a serious injury that took about 6 minutes to stabilise the player and then resume the game. The bookie doesn't care that there was no play for 6 minutes in your timeframe, if nobody scores they take you cash anyway.
