who is he? where does he live? Is he just another that refused to change?

(No matter what its no where near as bad as his previous masters ) all the inadequacies and corruption will never equal that

....@fafi FYI the writer or tweeter is a free lance Journo that investigates mainly sporting topics....
and although I do not follow him....he apparently is asking a legitimate question....ZAR9.5BAR was given to a soccer museum but no one can tell him where this museum is.... :huh:

....we have changed no longer should we be in the dark like with the previous regime who under lack of press freedom were plundering.....and because they did it....it is OK for the present regime to try and match or even improve on this plundering.....as a nation we cannot allow this constant plundering which is giving way to wholesale thievery..... as soon we too will be not only morally bankrupt.....but in very deep sh!t

24 June 2014: Email from Sershan Naidoo (National Lotteries Board: Beneficiary & Player Relations; and Media Liaison)

“As stated on the payments list, the applicant is the SA Football Museum. The museum is at the FNB Stadium. You would have to check with the beneficiary if they have the ‘blessing of SAFA’. The beneficiary met with our requirements and were considered for a grant.”

Sports Minister, Fikile Mbalula told parliament last month:

“The South African Football Museum is a private initiative, and it is not a museum but an exhibition. It will therefore not be opened officially like a museum would. However, it runs exhibitions from time to time when funds permit they say. The organization reports that it does not have adequate funds to open and operate a museum. The Department has not contributed any funding to this project.”

So, how can R4.8 million be given to the SA Football Museum from the National Lottery in December 2013 as the first tranche and 16 months later, we are here.

“We advise that the exhibition is currently in the infrastructure ‘build’ phase. More details will be released to the media imminently which will include the date of opening.” – Pippa Freer, SA Sports Museum Director

SportsFire also asked if the SA Football Museum had received a second tranche payment of the grant.

Freer replied: “In terms of any other information regarding the grant, please can you engage directly with the NLB (National Lottery Board).”

When SportsFire told Naidoo that the football museum didn’t exist and was not at the FNB stadium.

He responded by saying: “What made you think that the funding was for a museum? Did you speak to the beneficiary organisation? The fact that the word ‘museum’ appears in the name of the beneficiary does not mean that the grant was for a museum!”

Oops, he must have forgotten he told us it was at the FNB stadium.

The beneficiary’s PR company also weighed in last June stating:

“The South African Football Museum has recently evolved to encompass a number of sporting codes, not just football, and these developments involve a number of stakeholders, including the National Lotteries Board. A project of this size and scope takes a significant amount of planning, as I’m sure you will understand, and as we are still in the initial stages we are not yet in a position to communicate the finer details or conduct any site visits.”

A site visit would have been really interesting. Would be nice to at least see what they’ve done with the interest on the R4.8 million.

Next thing we’ll be told it was a statue and it’s been taken down.

XHIBITION – From Freedom to Fanfare
Since its readmission to world sport, South Africa has successfully staged a number of high profile international sporting events, including the World Cups of rugby, cricket and football.
In celebration of those and other achievements, and to display to the public just how notable they were, the exhibition “From Freedom to Fanfare, celebrating South Africa’s legacy as a sporting host”, sponsored by the Lotto, has been launched, and it will be on display for people to celebrate South Africa as a successful sporting host since 1994 for the next five months.
The exhibition, which is informative and interactive, and therefore great fun for the whole family, is on display at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg and incorporates 13 sports and 29 events.
The exhibition has been years in the planning. The original concept was the brainchild of the late Leepile Taunyane. He had a dream that was to establish a South African Football Museum highlighting the history of SA football.
Sadly, he died in 2013 and he did not live to fulfil his dream, so the project was put on hold.
That was until his son, also Leepile Taunyane, took it up on behalf of his father and joined forces with project custodian Pippa Freer, the ex¬ Orlando Pirates marketing manager. She has put together many sports projects and has worked with a number of government departments.
Leepile is an engineer by profession, but growing up in the massive presence of his beloved father, he could not but get to love football. Although he never played the sport at a high level, the game was an ever ¬present factor in the household.
The project evolved under Leepile’s direction from a football museum to a multi¬code concept, as other sporting codes asked to be involved. It is now a celebration of South Africa as a sporting host in general.
It is, of course, impossible to include all the highly successful events that have been hosted, so it was decided to include those events and sporting codes that made a big impact within all communities in SA. The success of the event in the eyes of the fans is what determined what would be included.
The exhibition will be open on request for group bookings and the cost of the entrance will be determined by the nature of the group request. For example, the group might want to also have a tour of the FNB Stadium, or it may require refreshments.
The exhibition is available for hospitality at big match or event days. It is also a fun venue for launches.
There will also be special offers for large groups and for scholars.
As President Nelson Mandela said: “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair. It is more powerful than government in breaking down racial barriers.”

...so after reading through all this twaddle....there is still no museum....the money was used for ...partying.... :woohoo:

....very nice ....let the blind, the crippled and mentally ill beg at street corners....while soccer pisses away a lotto grant.... :S
