VAR - Half way mark in EPL

So what is everyone's thoughts on VAR in the EPL?

I am sure LiVARpool fans are happy, although they are quick to point to this supposed "VAR Table", and they only accumulated 2 direct points thanks to VAR, but football isn't that simple as we know goals change games and game-play and gameplans.

I have an issue that they spend 5 minutes looking at a millimetre decision for offside, but then they spend 30 seconds at looking at a foul or handball. Very frustrating.

I've not really seen all of Liverpool's VAR decisions, but they seem to be involved in a major decision every other week.

It is the first season in the EPL, but what is everyone's thoughts on this? Wolves manager was moaning that the VAR officials don't have "feel" for the game. Whatever that means.

I think they should give each captain 3 appeals like they do in Tennis and Cricket. If an incident happens, and a captain wants to appeal, the decision must be removed from the on-field ref, and left in the hands of VAR.
If a player gets an appeal wrong, they lose one appeal... like in Tennis I think.

What do you guys reckon?

I would like to say why is there VAR only for PL home games in the FA cup? For example, no VAR Middlesbrough v Spurs, but VAR in Chelsea v Forest.

Are you sure you weren't watching two different tournaments?
I think VAR is only in use for the final match either in the FA Cup or League Cup.

I highly doubt they will only use it for "home" games. That sounds mental

What about for fouls/penalty claims?

Was watching Greame Souness chat about VAR and what is is doing for the goals in the EPL and people want to see goals... His idea to combat losing out on goals is that with VAR, the rule should be that the attacker must atleast have a piece of his body ON side when the ball is played. It doesnt matter how much of his body is offside, aslong as there is some part of his body onside then it is fair play..

After hearing this, i sat thinking about the method to his madness, and i must say, i really like this strategy... I think this will entail many more goals over the course of the season, and increase the entertainment of what is already the best league in the world.

I too thought something similar after listening to the studio armchair players. “If you can’t settle a VAR offside in say 10 seconds, or whatever, then give the goal”. I think something similar we have with our horseracing photo finishes?

I like that too. Wasn't it used to be "clear daylight" between the attacking player and last player?

I thought that was the rule up until not tooong ago.
