Jason Day 40/1 outright e/w

main bet top aussie

Rory at 10s is a joke given recent form

Dustin Johnson on his day will be hard to stop but a bit inconsistent.... small nibble outright only

good luck

WSB blog likes these three

Rickie Fowler 22/1 e/w

He hasn’t quite hit the heights of last season just yet but Fowler raises his game for the big tournaments, as seen in his close-shaves in all 4 majors last year and a win at golf’s ‘5th major’ at the Players last month. Won’t come into this tournament in that sort of form but you just get the feeling a maiden major can’t be far off for the likeable Fowler.

Jason Day 35/1 e/w

The Aussie has had a poor last two tournaments but is usually in the mix at the US Open, finishing runner-up in 2011 and 2013 and a T4 last year. He’s won this year and has a further 5 x top 5 finishes, so like myself you’re prepared to draw a line through his indifferent form the last few weeks, he must be some real value here at 35/1 for the win and 7/1 for a top 6 finish.

JB Holmes 80/1 e/w

Big hitting Holmes has the distance to conquer this course and has this year shown another side to his game that was previously suspect – the ability to play with a bit more control and reserve when the course requires – which has helped him to 5 top 10’s and a win at the Houston Open. His major form is dismal but was a respectable T17 at last year’s Open and looks a lurker at a biggish price.

Played golf with Branden Grace two weeks ago and he was pretty confident about doing well at the US Open.

This course is a monster and favours a long hitter but at the same time your putting needs to be seriously hot to handle those greens. In the past Grace hasn't been the best putter in the States but he has been working with eye doc Sherylle Calder for a while now and it looks to be working.

I took a bit of the 80/1 outright on Zach Johnson. His game has turned and he has started to putt well again.

McIlroy had an interview just before the BMW Players at Wentworth. He came over as a bit flaky. He talks a lot but has missed the last two cuts, one being his own Tournament and seems to collect an amount of baggage, court cases, girllfriend etc.He could go out and win this because he is a brilliant player at 26 years of age.
I would like to see him get his head down and compete more.

Provide he doesn't have injury lapse I like Oosthuisen because he is a very good Links player.Lets see.

I punted Jason Day outright and Franseco Mollinari as top European.

Watched it last night, the greens are not good enough for a major championship.
Tiger Woods looked a forlorn figure, couldn't happen to a nicer man and he certainly rubbed of on he's playing partner Tricky Ricky Fowler,Woods shot 80 and unbelievably beat Fowler who shot 81.

Jason Day collapsed with vertigo coming down a steep hill during round two of the US Open at Chambers Bay on Friday.

The 27-year-old Australian, who suffers with the condition, needed treatment for a few minutes after his fall.

He regained his footing and missed a putt for par on the ninth hole - his 18th - before succeeding from four feet for a bogey to leave him on two under.

Medical staff had to help him walk over to sign his scorecard but Day said he plans to play on in the tournament.

Day's agent Bud Martin said: "Jason was diagnosed to have suffered from Benign Positional Vertigo. He is resting comfortably.

"His condition is being monitored closely and he is hopeful he will be able to compete this weekend in the final rounds of the US Open. He wants to thank all who treated him the fans and friends who have reached out to him and his family."

Playing partner Justin Rose, who shot a level-par 70 to stand at two over, said: "At first I thought he might've just rolled his ankle but then when I saw his caddie with a towel round him, I realised it was something else.

"I knew he'd been having some health issues recently and then that's when your mind starts racing a little bit."

Vertigo caused world number 10 Day to withdraw from the World Golf Championship in Ohio last year and last month's Byron Nelson Championship.
