One swallow doesn't make a summer. He received good clean possession and was never under pressure. Good for him, but against any other international side he will get pommelled. Why do you think the whole panel were quick to point that out after the game ? He is not physical enough to handle their onslaught, his defence against the bigger boys that run his channel / broken play have and will run right over him. Super 15 proved this and that is not on an international level.
I have pointed out R Pienaar will kill any fly-half under pressure, because he is too slow. HM is in love with this guy, did you see when he replaced him, he didnt leave the field. WTF?
Everyone is happy for the win but (Southern Hemisphere ref, brilliant) he was protected by their interpretation of the laws, change this to a Northern Hemisphere ref and he wont be, he will be pommelled.
Either way our forwards are our key to doing anything in the World Cup and if they are not prepared to lay their bodies on the line we wont advance past the semi's. Good to see a willingness to do so in this game and that is the only positive I take out of this game. The weak points week in and week out are still there and have not improved. That comes down to HM and his brain-dead coaching team.
I hope we have 8 "swallow's" in a row come the World Cup :woohoo:

I must have watched a different game, listened to a different panel and read the game reports of a different game with a flyhalf called Lambie!
 Without doubt he was better than Pollard has been in the past 3 tests.

Craig, its always nice to chat and have opinions about sports, even if they differ.
Bambi has skills and is an average player but has and will not cut it at international level. Pollard is young strong and has all the skills, however he is being killed by Pienaar and his forwards in the last few games. The other sad fact is he plays for the Bulls and that cant do him any good with his natural game. He has far more potential given the right support to win games for us than Bambi will ever have.

As you say we all allowed our opinions. To me and many others, Pollard is making too many mistakes. He does not have Lambies calmness and there is very little wrong with his defence. All the write ups I have seen sat that it will be a traversty if Pollard plays before Lambie and Patrick should start against Japan. He showed that he is the number 1 flyhalf last night.

Exactly F, he has shown me nothing throughout his career that he can be a match winner at international level against a top side. Remember in the land of the blind the one eye is king........
Put him in the same position Pollard was in, in the last few games, then tell me I'm wrong. When he came on against the AB he was caught ball n all and carried back 3m. Why didnt he make a difference with fresh legs ? Because he cant against good sides. He may be calm ! Great that wins games ? He has had more than enough game time to prove himself over the years and has failed at international level.
One game where the fly-half was given good service and protected by his forwards, for a change, now he is our first choice fly-half........
My prediction, if they play him as first choice, he will not go through to the knock-outs due to injury or bad play.

There he goes again Craig E shouting from the rooftops re a Sharks player. Yes Lambie played very well, but then consider this. Argentina left out a number of players who won last week. This win just covers over the cracks. The important match, the one that meant something the week before, the Boks got thumped. The best SA player was Movwo who no doubt will be dropped come the first match in the WC. (replaced by some unknown Blou Bull)
Meyer will revert to the two blockheads up front and there goes all the discipline out of the window. If Japan have a good goal kicker then mark them down for at least 18 points.
