Rugby Championship / NZ training camp???
8 years 9 months ago - 8 years 9 months ago
So this is our squad....
Ruan Combrinck, Damian de Allende,Lood de Jager, Juan de Jongh, Faf de Klerk, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Eben Etzebeth, Johan Goosen, Bryan Habana, Francois Hougaard, Elton Jantjies, Steven Kitshoff, Vincent Koch, Jaco Kriel, Jesse Kriel, Francois Louw, Lionel Mapoe, Emirates Lions, Malcolm Marx, Bongi Mbonambi, Teboho Mohoje, Franco Mostert, Tendai Mtawarira, Lwazi Mvovo, Sikhumbuzo Notshe, Trevor Nyakane, Rudy Paige, Julian Redelinghuys, Morne Steyn, Adriaan Strauss – captain, Duane Vermeulen, Warren Whiteley.
Firstly, I would like to thank the springbok selectors for not dissappointing me and not proving me wrong regarding selections. You have added a total of 2 (I do stand to be corrected but im sure it is) Lions players to the squad from our latest test series against the Irish, despite them being head and shoulders better than anything anywhere in SA...
I sit here scratching my head ......
1- Undoubtably one of the best players (even the NZ ex players talk about him being special), Janse van Rensburg, does not feature in your squad. I have no clue why.. in what has been a dismal season for South African inside centres, he has been the shining light yet does not crack a nod. De Allende has been poor this season, yes he had an injury, but how long does that excuse last for (clearly really long in SA). Lets say he gets injured in the opening half of the 1st game, who replaces him? There is not one, yes not one other inside center in the squad... blows my farking mind... lets not also forget JvR was one of the top try scorers in super rugby. Clearly means F all.
2- Mavovo. Ffs, really? Ireland made him look like an absolute clown. What is NZ going to do? He was crap for the Sharks, so what justifies his selection? Please dont tell me race, as once again, the second highest try scorer from the Lions, Skosan fits that profile. Great to see once again performance really counts for F all.
3- Morne Steyn and Bryan Habana. With all due respect to them, their time is up and with 4 years to build a WC team (god please help us), they are going to be ancient come that time, why are they here? Would it be better to have a player with 4 years experience rather than 1? Give the young ones the shirt and tell them to prove themselves now, its really not rocket science...
I could go on, but will refrain. Just makes no sense to me.

Will beat Argentina and Australia at home but lose to the ABs and lose all three away games. ABs will win all 6 as they just seem to be getting better and better

You alot more positive than me. The way I see it, the slightest chance of us winning a game is against argentina at home. We will lose every other game. I have honestly been trying to find a bookie who can offer me a price on sa to lose all games..

Should be a good championship with Argentina improving all the time. It won't surprise me if they beat the Aussies at home along with the Boks.

Karma dont get me started bud, but this is what we have to get used to for the future and its only going to get worse. We in the WP are rotten from the Smal head all the way down to the reserve bottle washer. We have by far the best juniors in the country for the past few years yet we cant string a team together that means anything. WP doesnt have the money to contract juniors but bitch and moan in the press about losing juniors to other provinces. (only players of colour) Our coaches get paid ridiculous salaries, some are still on the pay-roll but dont coach any team cause they are so shit. ( 1.7 mil pa) The only time they are involved is when their kids are playing for a certain age group and they then disappear back into "retirement". Gravy train of note, all the while our rugby gets weaker with less and less depth. Now from one of the strongest provinces (financially and depth of players) to this rubbish. How different are the other provinces then ? How different is our national team ? Sad !! Fucked up !!

Roo many SA players chasing the pound, although the pound is losing value by the minute since the brexit vote. So many leave voters now complaining that their yearly two week holiday to Magaluf is more expensive. serves them right

Neigh well said................maybe your players could earn a bit extra by going into the "match fixing " business. I see it is quite widespread in our Cricket now...........
P. S its rather difficult to spot when SA teams get involved with match fixing as they are never in a position to "throw "the game anyway!.

But Neigh, I must give it to some of the WP kids, they do have their heads screwed on and have seen the light, like Curwin

That is disgusting by these players. They sold their souls for a few extra rands and it will come back and hit them hard one day when they are older and are tarnished being a cheat and a money grabber. Stupid idiots and I am happy that they got caught as there is no place in sport for that

Spanish island Majorca where a lot of Brits go for a piss up and where they can sit in pubs with the same names as the ones back home and eat English food and drink English beer. A place best avoided in the summer months
Like Bali is for the Aussies and Cancun for the American students on Spring break

History keeps repeating itself with our national side.................always been harder to get out the side than into it ..............We are obsessed with experience even when players badly off form or well past their sell by date!
