My Zim mates living in New Zealand haven't stopped sending messages saying that the AB,s will be sending their 3rd side to play the Boks....their reckoning that the Boks don't deserve to play their top side. Grrr...but can't disagree, especially after watching them against Ireland.....

If we had a coach of the same quality as NZ,Aus, England, Wales. Ireland etc. - very few of the players selected in our present squad would be there.

cannot blame the current coach. Meyer messed it all up by selecting all of his pals from his days at the Bulls. Players who should have been selected by him are only now getting their chance and as we all know it takes a good 6 -10 tests to make your mark. Give it this season then watch them.

This is going to be a problem for years to come , unless the springbok team is selected purely on merit . Yes we are all armchair critics and selectors but we can all see when a player outclasses the rest , yet the selectors don't or don't want to see it . If the Aussies manage to get their heads around the massacre they just received they will beat us in Aus and run us close in SA . The All Blacks will beat us by 10 points in SA and by 15 in NZ . I am not sure if there is any SA player that would make the All Black side . They seem to be better from 1 - 15 . Someone mentioned in a earlier post that we are obsessed with having experienced players while the All Blacks moto is "if he is good enough , he is old enough " . The two youngsters Marx and Van Rensburg would have been selected on the fact that they a streets ahead of any other player in the country , yet Marx may get 15 minutes and Van Rensburg isn't in the squad .

You are right when you say for years to come.. the problem imo (well one of them), we all see the springbok squad getting announce and have no clue how certain individuals have been selected. These are players that are contracted to provinces and generally earn a wage. They will either carry on playing for their province, or go overseas where they can play 2nd division rugby and earn much more than playing provincial rugby here. The issue is at root level, school and junior club rugby. When Joe Soap who is super talented, loves the game and can go far but doesnt get selected due to politics he will lose interest and not play anymore.. Sounds extreme that politics would stop them at such a young age, but it does..FACT. in 18 years, how many Joe Soaps who should have/could have been our best players are instead watching our country get hammered on tv all cause some of our best players leave the game before there mid teens..

Can't be as bad as Arsenal

The manager had to select a new captain so who does he select. Per Mertasaker who can't play until January because he is injured, the appointment was made 4 days ago a mere 3 weeks after Mertaksaker got the injury, it's no wonder that other club managers no longer see Wenger as a threat.

Hahaha.

Would love to see if we had to get Mustafi, and Koscielny is fit, and Gabriel is fit, how Mertesaclker could captain the team from the bench, or the stands..

karma I don't know how long you have been a fan but if you go back in a few years you will find that Wenger makes injured players the captain. Vermaelen, Arteta and now Mertasaker both Vermaelen and Arteta left the club the season after so Mertasakers time is running out. Same happened with Henry, Fabregas and RVP although they were not injured but we're not too long in the job before they left. Tony Adams was the best captain that Arsenal have ever had the more pissed he was the better he played and captained

Its is not all doom and gloom for the boks,i say give the new coach a chance to prove himself, give him time to implement his philosophy and style of play and after we beat Argentina and Australia home and away we can see how he does against New Zealand who ARE THE BEST TEAM AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME.

this coach cant be worse than than the previous one!

You are far more optimistic than me. Infact if the boks only lose to the all blacks, I will give up gambling, drinking, eating and breathing.. :woohoo:
