When will TAB and PHUMELELA wake up

Once again TAB show total disrespect to punters most importantly new punters. The july attracts many new punters to the game who if they win might well stay in the game. These new punters and many of us regulars place our bets with tote using hard earned cash in the hope of a big win. Monday arrives im sitting at one of the outlets and watching not one but many new punters who come to collect their winnings only to be told sorry we have no cash take avoucher or go to another outlet. This is a disgrace these people couldnt understand why when they spend R100 in cash the same outlet cant pay out the small amount of R600. Its time TAB took the responsibility to ensure people get paid as soon as they arrive at the window. Why should old or new punters put up with this. In a casino you could win R100 000 and you could get paid in no time and in cash so whats up? Im tired of hearing their excuses about security etc thats their problem fix it and dont make it our problem. We arrive with cash we should be paid in cash on the spot. Wake up TAB . From now on i support the open bet with my bookie i know what im getting and how i will be treated.

I think Bloodshot's last sentence says it all. However much critics may bleat about the drain on stakes, and however many million times a day Tellytrack chooses to flight those silly bet-with-the-tote ads, the TAB's appalling service and treatment of its customers will drive people away in search of a better alternative. Why this should be so fooking difficult to understand is beyond me, but this must be the most customer-unfriendly organisation to be found anywhere in the leisure industry.

Ffos Las has breeding, the rest no. But would the geniuses responsible know the difference between Dansili and dentures?

Casinos are 24Hour establishments which have control on expected payouts for the day and are therefore able to hold enough and bank enough. With totes, a ticket could be purchased at one venue and cashed at another. The question is; what do they do, hold on to the weekends takings. This method will not only put the lives of staff at risk, but would risk the lives of the prize claimants. I am sure the winner would rather leave with a voucher alive than leave in a body bag.

I found the pic below quite interesting. Greyville Race course - I wonder when these will be rolled out to the totes

Another question have you ever seen a "deposit" bank ATM at a casino or racetrack? :S

With respect to Alcaponee i dont think a punter trying to collect R600 rand should accept a voucher for fear of his life. We on many days walk out of Pick n Pay or the bank with more than that.I would agree that that would apply to someone trying to collect alarge sum of 50 or more grand. To say that TAB staff would be at risk is also not fair - bank staff casino staff and bookmakers staff all work with large sums of money on adaily basis and they are looked after by their employers and TAB should make it their buisness to do the same for their staff. I respect your opinion Alcaponee but as Magic Lips stated Phumelela and TAB have no clue when it comes to customer service or the ability to identify problems and take action on those problems or suggestions. It seems to most of us that they just dont care.

As they say in Customer Service Management:
Happy employees equals to Happy customers and Happy customers become loyal customers and
Happy and Loyal Customers is profitable for the organisation.

The situation is simple IMO....the customer should be offered payment in cash, with vouchers or cheque offered as an alternative,at the DISCRETION of the CUSTOMER which is how it was before "P".(Computaform used to be accurate and well distributed too before falling under the same board.)The common denominator is "P"
They could be a case study on mismanagement!
