The race meeting has been abandoned as still raining and very cold in Pmb and more expected. Pity thought I had 2 very nice runners.

Not surprising. When I drove home from the airport last night it was like driving through the Victoria Falls.

When you saw the programme for August, the amount of stand alone meetings at this time of the year meant a few SA race free days was inevitable.

This is the dry season, for crying in a bucket (not that it'll make any difference, the bucket's already full with the rain!). What's it going to be like when the summer rains start in earnest?

Sunny and hot the whole day! My lawn at home is slightly damp but not muddy at all and I'm a short distance from Scotsville. What about the horses where trainers were waiting for "soft" conditions? And it's not being clever afterwards, the weather reports said it was clearing since yesterday afternoon and sunny today. Almost like some one somewhere don't want to race?
