Please note when using this calculator if a horse is EVENS (1/1) you have to enter the Price as 2 and not as 1.
So,
if a horse is 3/1 you have to enter 4,
if a horse is 4/1 you have to enter 5,
and so on !!!!!!!

What confidence levels and limits of accuracy are you looking for ?
There are many good approaches yet players do not have what it takes to stay the distance - albeit 80% do not make it, but how do you know unless you follow it ?

HHP, I'm still working on this. My results for picking top three choices seem to be negative. So at the moment I believe selecting two horses will be my max and can show a profit even without looking for value in the bets. Just betting the top two blindly. Of course one has to be fairly good at selecting winners for this to work, otherwise we have a (GIGO) garbage In garbage out effect.

Don - Absolutely correct . Hedging is what it is called by most punters.
Whatever the term used, the aim of the game is to show a profit , I would think.
Great post.

The difference between hedging and dutching, as far as I know, is that hedging is backing a horse and saving the stake on the danger/s whereas dutching is backing more than one horse to achieve the same profit on each.
Two different strategies!

A 'Dutch Book' is betting / laying 2 or more horses with a guaranteed win scenario.
'Dutching' is endeavouring to achieve the above.
All seems double dutch to me...prefer to call it 'duo wins', what the hell - thats just as confusing!
