Public Are Invited To Name "The Great White"

One of Rathmor Stud's top broodmares Perakeen (Rakeen - Perfick(NZ) - by Straight Strike) delivered a surprise in the early hours of the morning of the 14 September. The snow white colt with chestnut ears is by Summerhill Stud's champion stallion Kahal. Rathmor stud owner Mike McHardy says as far as they know, this is the first time this has ever occurred in South Africa. The colt has triggered an enormous amount of interest amongst the equestrian community due to his rare colouring for a Thoroughbred.

The colt is destined to be named The Great White

Rathmor Stud are inviting the public to name their much talked about "Great White", a foal with a top pedigree and extremely rare colouring.

The snow white colt with chestnut ears is by KZN's champion stallion Kahal out of Perakeen (Rakeen - Perfick(NZ) - by Straight Strike) has taken the breeding world by storm, and not just localised in KZN or South Africa, but online interest has come from as far afield as New Zealand, Australia, Canada, USA, Ireland, UK, Japan, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, Latvia, Austria, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

"THE GHOST"

What's this type of colouring called, does anyone know? Why I ask is I remember reading about a horse of the same coloring when I was a kid, in one of the "Brumby" books. Has anyone ever heard of this colouring elsewhere? How fascinating!
