Neighmaster 100% right. Very seldom can you scrub a horse along so hard for so far and expect to still run on. The pace shown by the inside horses prevented him getting across easily. May have been better in hindsight to have dropped him in midfield and let him relax and run on. He was gone before the straight. Pity I dont like seeing top horses running 3rd last.

Rocket Man was cooked by the draw, if he ever had a chance before that. He doesn't seem to be quite at the peak of his powers at the moment, but considering that he's done almost all of his racing around corners I respectfully think it is a very lame excuse to say he is better down the straight.
