Correct Polo Classic won in 2002. I had a small bet on it. Barend was in tears after the race. Polo Classic was well in at the weights. Polo Classic ran 2nd in the Daily News 2000 in the year 2000 to J&B Met winner of 2000, Badgers Coast. The last time Barend rode in the July was Veiled Essence in 2007.

Seconded. It would be great fun to have a Christmas quiz, fly the best three up to Jo'burg and run it on Winning Ways. (Prize a turkey and a Christmas pud, all wear silly hats ... should be a blast.)

Went for lunch with Terry/Barend and the waiter brought ice cream cones for the kids and gave one to Barend, must say he looked funny with a cone in one hand and a cigar in the other......he also looked so young has become a superb jock.
