Scotia on a merry Christmas and a happy New Year

Good morning all and would just like to wish you and your family all the best over the festive season and take care.

We have had another wonderful year on the site thanks to your contributions and sponsorship, we look forward to a great 2012: Queens Plate WOW! who will be first to price up on this cracker? not forgetting the Met.

Another thing to look forward to and at my age you don't want the goalposts too far, is that the "Eagles" are coming at Easter and that reminded me of an old post on the site from 4 years? back.

ABC forum.........Hotel California.....

On a dark dreary Monday
Dandruff in my hair
Warm smell of porridge
Rising up through the air
Up ahead on the monitor
I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy, and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
Interbet on my home page
I could give them a bell?
And I was thinking to myself
This could be Heaven or this could be Hell
Then I lit up a cigar
And they showed me the way
There were prices on the specials board
I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the A.B.C. Forum
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely place (background)
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the A.B.C.Forum
Any time of year
Any time of year (background)
You can find us here
You can find us here
Our mind's are definitely twisted
We got women who are men
We got a lot of pretty, pretty boys
That we call friends
How they tap on their keyboards
Sweet summer sweat
Some type with one hand
Some type to forget
So I called up Hibby
Please bring me my wine,
He said we haven't had a clever post since 1999
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say
Welcome to the A.B.C. forum
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely place (background)
Such a lovely face
They're livin' it up at the A.B.C. forum
What a nice surprise
What a nice surprise (background)
Bring your "filthy lies"

Mirrors on the ceiling
Where we like to keep it nice
And they said
We are all just prisoners here
of or own device.
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
He wires them up to his nipple clamps
But he just can't kill the beasts
Last thing I remember
another competition at my door
I had to google the passage back to the place I was before
Relax said the Scotia man
It's nearly time to breath,
You can log out any time you like
But you can never leave.

Sorry I just had to burst into song, neighbours not that pleased but back to sport.

Barcelona are a great team to watch they remind me of the old Real Madrid team when I was a lad and it will take something special to stop them retaining the Champions League 16/10.
The lads from Manchester will however be focussing on the "other" trophy where City 9/2 and United 7/1, its much the same in the EPL where City 7/10 and United 5/2 plus some crunch games over the festive season.

Long Run v Kauto Star

Its all jumps in the UK and can't wait for the King George on boxing day and pray it does not clash with Ngong or some chariot race? Long Run (Eagles, could this be an omen) 13/10 to stop Kauto 4/1 making it 5 King George's, not forgetting Master Minded 6/1 .Race Preview

We also have the Welsh Grand National on the 27th where I fancy an ew on Viking Blond 12/1 to beat the fav Synchronised 7/1.
Cheltenham (depending on Igugu winning the Met) should be great and Big Bucks 7/10 to pay for the drinks,

As normal some great topics on the site

9852">The new kids on the block, great for racing.

Worst ride of the month

Magic Lips in hot form.

Anyone manning tellytrack?

Perana and Legal Account, the punters nightmares.

Our competition thread still going like a bomb and thanks to Interbet and a few generous Clan members we have another winning formula, in addition Sham Racing are coming to the Christmas party with another bonus. Enter Comp

Some thoughts over the festive season

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster. Want to live longer? Take nap.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: Oh no. Wine made from fruit. Brandy distilled wine, that mean they take water out of fruity bit so you get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made of grain. Bottom up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have body and you have fat, your ratio one to one. If you have two body, your ratio two to one.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of single one, sorry. My philosophy: No pain...good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU NOT LISTENING! Food fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetable be bad?

Q : Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Oh no! When you exercise muscle, it get bigger. You should only be doing sit-up if you want bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: You crazy?!? HEL-LO-O!! Cocoa bean! Another vegetable! It best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming good for figure, explain whale to me.

Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is shape!

Well... I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

AND.....

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans...

5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION:Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

*******************************************************************************************************

All the best and may your God be with you

Good punting!

Hi Dave,

Thanks so much for the many memorable hours spent in your box at Turffontein. We had many laughs and a good number of winners which always were welcome!. I have very fond memories of the day when JJ won the big sprint overseas. It was fun meeting some of the clan and putting faces to the weird forum names....::o
Reading your poem I know I can’t be one of the pretty boys but definitely associate myself with the twisted minds verse.....:D

I wish you and ALL the clanners good health and much success in 2012.

Cheers until we meet again....................(tu)(tu)(tu)
