Back left has got me stumped. Has to be a Joburg rider because of the red and white silks, but who? May well be Tobie van Booma.

I'd imagine the presence of Gerald Turner and Raymond Rhodes puts this no later than the mid 1980s and probably more likely the early 1980s. I agree, the "Swiss flag" is Turner.

I'm still trying to work out the winner. It can't be the year that Garth won on Grand National becauseif I remember right the weather was lousy and it's a nice day in that pic. Why do I have a hunch that Robbie Sham might have won it in the quasi-J P Herholdt colours?

It might come to me eventually. At about the same time as the first manned mission to Venus.
