99% of business is not affected by unusual rain! They even stopped a soccer match at the NEW stadium with STATE OF THE ART DRAINAGE but that was probably GC's fault too!

Well, if Gold Circle had done its job properly and prevented the rain from arriving in the first place...

criag just for your information....i have it on good authority...that drainage at the new stadium is also in question...and by reports given at the time of building the pitch...this should not have occurred....so once again....someone coined in..
one bad trait that we have as a nation is our minset....we have a very accepting mindset....ie...if it comes from the top ,then it has to be right....lets change to a questioning mindset...and ask and demand answers...and that will break down a problem....craig its just not the unseasonal rain that i am referring to...because to a large extent that is unavoidable.....but getting the pull up area sorted...i am pretty sure..that ,that can be sorted out with a little research from authorities in that field...surely in this age of technology...getting that problem sorted out would be like abc to a child.

Magic I am about to go into a meeting now and will tell them to wake up! Just showing the amount of rain we had that they could not even play soccer so how we supposed to race? The stadium was said to be the best and they could not handle the rain!

People who weren't in Durban on Sunday don't seem to understand that we had what was basically a wall of water falling out of the sky for an hour. And we've had more bits and pieces of wet weather since then.

yes and they played cricket last night at kingsmead until it rained again .,,,the groundsman use modern day machinery plus covers to prevent rather than cure the problem...the cricket adminstrators look for solutions meanwhile ours in my opinion do not...but then again our grass is longer and horses weigh 500kg blah blah ...

The point I,(and Pirates I think) is trying to make is that attitude of "its not our fault" is too prevalent in racing and also becomes defensive(Sorry Craig ,read your own responses on this thread)
I imagine it is the same response you would have got 30 years ago, if some fan, frustrated with cancelled stadium sport, had said"why not put a closable roof on the stadium".........they would have put him in an institution!
