Rowdy, don't forget that Anton M has the cream of the crop rides, from MDK,C Laird,Ramsde, etc. gavin rides whatever, wherever he can, Zim if need be..

you cant put % ages into the equasion.

If Anton rode 10 odds on shots, he would probably win 7 outa 10 of them.

it was mentioned earlier that Muis the ace travelled to zim some 30 odd yers ago to win the championship..................... part of me says if it was good enough for MUIS THEN, & he was prepared to travel............. why change the rules now .

remember M.J. ODENDAAL won the championship about 10 years ago,,,,,,,,,,,,, his strike rate was shite, but he probably had the most rides of all jocks all season........... some jocks are prepared to CHASE THE TITLE.

Its the battle of:
The Young Man
Vs
The SuperMan
Vs
The Lucky Man

Anyone of them could ride 4 winners on a day and turn it in another direction.
The jockeys room is getting very vocal now when their favs hit the front

Craig i think you got to differentiate between BEST jockey & CHAMPION JOCKEY of the season..

at this stage of their careers, Anton is by far the BETTER jock...... he gets better rides, his results are there to be seen. he is also + / - 20 years senior of Gavin.! ( there's nothing like experience to know your job well, & do it well )

where will Gavin be 20 years from now ? we'll have to wait and see........... as for now the chase is on for THE CHAMPION JOCK of 2012 saeson, nothing else. GO GAVIN !

IMHO Anthony Delpech and Anton Marcus have nothing to prove or feel humbled about. We are priveledged to have them back in S.A. after their stints abroad.Between the two of them, the Durban July sash worn 6 times? 3 times apiece?

Marcus on Jay Peg in Dubai, nobody will ever forget.Anthony on Vengeance of Rain, Igugu etc.The list goes on and on.

17/20 and evens must say that Gavin never looked close to having a winner today and Anton did his normal hit job, thought I was stealing money at 8/10 but a few worrying days to go,

to me it looks like Anton has better rides in P.E. Monday & Gavin better rides at VAAL on tuesday.

just maybe, maybe KIMBERLEY next monday is deciding factor who wins the championship, i know this is the 2nd last day, but can be vital in going into last day of championship come TUESDAY.
