@englander @davetheflower..the changed result was definately fair...paradise square only won the race because of the interference caused to firsttofly..no matter what country the interference happened in it still happened for all to see..

I don't agree Justin... if they had run in a straight line then PS would still have finished infront and that to me is the bottom line. And it never veered until the other horse veered all the way across to join him. Now I'm not going to make a big song and dance about it but I find it very strange how they continually throw out a horse that would have won if nothing had happened. Horses veer all the time and it seems to me the fav often gets it when there's a review... though I am sure ita all above board.
But really, I don't wish to discuss it, I can see why it was thrown out but having a record of something like 9 out of 10 of the horses I backed being involved in a review losing, I am more than a little cynical about it all, probably cost me close on 2000 quid now. And I often don't see it the way the result goes and I do try to be unbiased, indeed I was very surprised given previous decisions, that people here thought it would be thrown out. I accept it and we move on but I just struggle with it.
As for your mate Dave, get him a very large whiskey!!

Gorongosa win is where De Kocks has gained experience from campaigning overseas, gets them fit enough to win over there correct distance even after a rest. Most of SA trainers would give their horse ''prep'' runs over shorter distances...

gorongosa won because they went slowly and didnt make her carry her top weight after a rest...only very few riders in this country can judge pace over distance

I must admit, I had some doubt as to whether a mare that was rested for 3.5 months can come out and win over that distance, but all credit to MDK and his team, they have a very good horse on their hands. Spies also has a good a good filly as well, Lower merit next time and she is hme and hosed.
