GB, in race 4 and race 7 the ratings were close. I understand that Gorongosa is a strong fancy in race 7, but we have Salutation at the top of the ratings in that race. in it's last race it pulled up lame, but if you go back in the form, on the inner track on good going, it has run some of it's best races. If it races to it's best rating (it has a 4kg pull on Gorongosa) for admittedly an 7 length beating in Nov, but that was not on the inside track, and over 3200. Gorongosa has not raced for five months, and if Salutation can run to it's better form, it can win.

However, if it runs to it's last run, it will run last. So Salutation is top of the ratings, but only a couple of points ahead of Gorongosa, so it's too close to call, so no horse in that particular race...

Gorongosa may win by 10 lengths, but that's is racing, and of course peoples opinions will vary, as I am sure many people will have that as a PA and P6 banker, but not me...

The same logic applies to race 4; therefore no ratings...

Hope that helps; go well and if you are bankering Gorongosa in the P6, I hope it comes home lonely...we have 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 in that leg...cheers

Go with your gut feel; these are ratings, but ultimatly it comes down to an opinion.

If you feel it will win, banker it.

That is what racing so much fun, it's all some form study, and then we form an opinion...it's your money you are wagering, so your opinion is the one that counts...

All these brilliant guys on this forum (Hotline, Titch and some of the trainers like the Shams) also provide an invaluable source of information; but ultimately, you place the bet...

Cheers and enjoy the day...

Looks a competitve card with some of the fancied runners scratched; thoughts;

R3: Beautiful Muriel has a big reputation, if she flops it's open
R4: I think today will be Firstofly's day
R5: Grey Goose does have a lot going for him imo
R6: Power Lord to beat Soul Master
R7: Not sure about Gorongosa, long rest but if ready should win, if not, lots of others with chances - preference for Turkish Delight and do not leave out Salutation if you're going wide
R8: Filles and mares handicap - All in the Mind looks the right one to me, chances to Dazzling Moon, Ugly Betty and Stunning Jet
R9: Competitive fillies and mares handicap to close; Skinny Dip may prefer further, so for value consider Bonny Blue, who ran a fair race in a Novice Plate last time behind the Oaks Trial winner and will prefer the drop in trip - Kittiefie comes from the same form line and Delpech rides - chance as well imo; if you like Coastal Caberet and Be Speedy (I don't), you have to consider Mother Superior - she is much better off with those two at the weights

Play well if you do (tu)
