Azzie's brash comments on Potala have really put a very decent, fantastic looking colt into a very bad light, not the horses fault at all I saw him at Turffontein and wow he's majestic. Pity so much pressure has been put on him by someone talking about butterflies and bee's

Well we all thought that we had War Admiral, Sea Biscuit, Secrateriat and Phar Lap reincarnated into a colt ridden by the Dalai Lama himself

The Potala Palace, winter palace of the Dalai Lama since the 7th century, symbolizes Tibetan Buddhism

He won tht time coz he was gd over tht distance and was ready
He is ordinary nw coz all those horses have improved alot and he hasnt shown much improvement
Gd luck with winning the Met...

@Kreddy, I get what u saying..
Maybe he will be a better Sire?if not gelded?
He is a gorgeous looking specimen though, that no1 can argue..I also feel 1600m tight course, his game from start to finish.. Could win met if moved to Durbanville>

I'm not one to be affected by all this negative publicity, but one thing that really irks me, is when people have a lot to say and are not brave enough to publish their own names and hide behind pseudonyms, which for me is tantamount to cowardice.
With regard to Potala Palace, to all you non-contributors whom I don't see any cheques in the mail or EFT's into my bank account, for his stabling cost etc, keep your opinions to yourself.
Just for the record the reason for the horse being put away, is that he has his problems like most racehorses do at any given time, and I thought it would be foolish to look at the short term as he is a young horse.
Obviously one cannot go straight into the Met. So for that fool who believes that is the route I would take, you obviously don't know the way I place or race horses.
For the record, Jackson in my humble opinion stands out head and shoulders above any 3yr old racing in SA at present, and it is in my opinion that my horse has maturing to do and taking Jackson on at this stage would not be the smartest move.
The J&B Met has always been a life long dream for me to win as it is the only major race in the country that my family have not been able to win. ie: Elevation - 2nd for my grandad. Quarrytown - 3rd for my father. Imperial Despatch - short head, short head 3rd for me.
I feel that as a 4yr old, Potala Palace will have matured and become a far stronger horse, and the Vodacom July would definitely be in our radar as is the J&B Met. Nothing is cast in stone as to where he will race and not race, these are all possibilities but he has to prove he is worthy of taking up his place.
I hope this puts all the Mr Negativities and Proffesors of Horseology firmly in their place.
I would like to treat this matter as closed.

@Mike Azzie..
A lot of what has been posted by myself shouldn't be taken seriously of taken with offence. No vicious conduct was directed at you or Potala Palace.
Infact (the clan can back me up) I am a huge fan of Potala Palace and I can be quoted in saying 'he will win all the races he is entered in this season'. You right I was a fool to say you will put him away for 9 months, but as I said it was just friendly banter with no though or malice meant.
All the best wit to you an PP with your future endeavours

Silly comment considering that without a betting public, your and other trainers stables probably wouldn't even exsist.
So, in actual fact punters are partially responsible for the reason why you have monies transfered to your account monthly albeit indirectly.

This forum is full of heresay and comments are often made from personal opinion or gossip.
If more trainers, jockeys, ect had to post on this forum more frequently, it would not only assist us in being more informed and therefore less likely to make unbased comments but may also to give us more accurate information to base our wagering upon.
Your statement is obviously appreciated by all who read and contribute to this forum but I think that we are all a little disappointed that you didn't include a rhyme or some poetic ending to the post - which we all would have rather enjoyed.
