Hi Clan. I watched this movie today..what a great movie, this is a top movie.
Ok my question come here, the below poem was recited time and time again and is a huge part of the movie, but for the life of me I don't know what it means..can anyone tell me?or elaborate?
Once more into the Fray,
Into the last good fight ill ever know,
Live and die on this day,
Live and die on this day..

I ve seen the film and agree it was a good film,i think the poem means that they are going into a fight they know they won`t win,but they can`t give up...

Sheza the name of the poem is called "Into the Fray" and it was written by Joe Carnahan the director/writer of the movie there has been a lot of debate as to whether it reads Live and Die or Live or Die on this day...
Give everything but up!

Its a survival thriller. I swiped this off the Internet:
"The Grey is based on the short story Ghost Walker by Ian Mackenzie Jeffers - a novella I have to find and read now. The movie is about a group of men surviving the elements after a plane crash in the remote wilderness of Alaska. Severe weather and lack of food are the least of their problems. The men are being relentlessly stalked by a pack of wolves. The movie is fantastic but has had its share of controversy. Some people feel the wolves are seen in a negative light, much like sharks were in the seventies after Jaws. I disagree. There are still wild, untamed areas on this world where humans have no right being. Or maybe they have the right to be there, but they shouldn't expect the locals to play by man's rules.
"Jaws was designed to make people fear sharks because the film makes sharks look like tresspassers on our turf (even though once you stick your head beneath any body of water - river, lake, ocean - you're no longer in familiar territory). The Grey makes people respect wolves. Man has wandered accidently into their land, and what happens next is just nature taking its course.
"Some people say the film is hopeless and pokes hole through faith. Again, I respectfully disagree. The film is called The Grey afterall. How we handle death is as important as how we handle life (Star Trek?).
"Best part of the movie for me? That poem. I loved it. And the ending - best...ending...EVER."
I also read that the musical score is something special. Liam Neeson was Schindler in "Schindler's List", a wonderful movie and a classic.
You've whetted my appetite to see this film, I must say ...
