Remember Nani was injured for long periods of last season, the season before that he was one of the best players in the EPL... I think United need a top class Central Defender and as you said Super Red a world class midfielder... The problem is they canno compete with City and Chelsea in the transfer market.

Thats the issues GB we cannot compete due to the financial position of the club and players no longer sign for clubs on sentiment ..

So its going to be difficult to get who we want compared to who is willing to sign

I feel this transition period will continue as long as SAF is at the helm, due to his pending retirement (only he knows when thats going to happen) we are going to find it difficult to lure big name signings as they dont want to become victims of being the old managers big signings and if they not part of the new guys way playing that leaves them in a kuk posi ...

I am a Liverpool supporter and i think we are all going to be stuck in a "transition period", cos they way it looks to me is that Man City will be winning the league year in and year out from now on for the next good couple of years! Just my opinion of course

I think united need quality Central midfielders, Scholes coming back changed our season,

I must agree with the Nani critics, he is either spectacular or goes missing in the game, he is a winger and plays on the left becos Valencia has owned the right. If u gave me a choice to pick two from nani/Valencia/young I would pick Valencia n young. Nani loses the ball far too easily and his shot on goal is hit or miss.

I would like to see a CM or two, a quality right back and possibly a left back and a quality striker.

United have a strong squad and everyone forgets they city won the league on goal difference, with the law of averages united had to lose the league sooner or later. Champions 4/6 of the last seasons is certainly not bad.

Free the main problem we are going to experience is that our team has not evolved in the past 3 or 4 seasons.
We lost Ronaldo and Scholes (before his comeback) with no replacemnts in the offering as well as our midfield is awful imo and we were very lucky our keeper saved us from a few embarressing results.

Two quality midfielders, a striker and a left back would improve our chances of regainingg the fapl immediately.

I also feel the decision by SAF to get rid of O Shea and Brown was a terrible one as we missed them both.

If we do not act and bring in some fresh players we going ti be fighing for 4th with Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle as Shitty, Chelsea and Arsenal are or intend being active in the market.

Honestly Kagawa is a top top signing, yes he is Asian and that will help the marketing department but on merit he was the best midfielder in Germany this past season.

I am really happy with this signing, these are his stats and hazards

Kagawa

App : 198
Goals : 86
Assists : 45
Int app : 30
Int goals: 10

Hazard

App: 192
Goals: 50
Assists: 38
Into app: 26
Into goals: 1

Kagawa is gonna be a big player for united next season

I agree, Valencia is the ronaldo replacement and he is not doing a bad job,

We haven't replaced scholes but there is one thing I have learnt about SAF is that he doesn't replace like for like players, Keane never was replaced.

Our squad looks good, welbeck, Rooney, chicharito, young, Valencia, cleverly, smalling, Jones, de gea, lindegaard are the players who will be around for years to come. The Keane brothers are very promising. Add kagawa and the squad looks great. Our youth team won the league and cup double this season and there are some promising players there.

Defence : Rio has 2-3 years, vidic has 5 years, Johnny evans had a good season, I am still undecided about fabio and Rafael but they r cover for Evra and hopefully a new right back.
We really missed Vidic this past season. Smalling is gonna grow as a player and I am not sure if Jones is the one to partner him in the future, Jones is very very young but is gonna be a top player for united and England in the years to come

I know we will be right up there challenging at the top

This is my take and I might be totally off the mark.

I think we need 2 solid defenders. I cannot see Rio lasting in the side. He has lost a yard or so.

As far as the De Silva bros are concerned, I personally think that they are "all-round footballers".
They can defend and go forward without a problem. they are capable of ball distribution as well.

I remember in one game seeing both the brothers, Cleverley and one other in the midfield. They were outstanding. in that game we had Evra, Vidic, Smalling and Rio in the defence.

They can be used in midfield.

Agra,

I still think Rio has 2 good years in him, he has lost pace but his tackling and positioning has always been great. IMO Jones was bought to fill that central defender role but he is still a bit young to be playing there with united. I would like to see a RB, one creative midfielder , one defensive midfielder and one striker

Kagawa can play behind the striker or as an attacking midfielder.

SAF probably won't spend on another striker seeing that we now have rooney, welbeck, chicarito and kagawa can play there. I hope we get a CM
