Jooste 'investment' in racing

I admit complete ignorance when it comes to tax breaks and cost of ownership...

But is Jooste and the like, onto a good thing.. I.e. dominating ownership to grab the best stakes? (Not saying this is fact) and tax breaks...
Or is it 'for the love of the game' '?or?

I think, (and don't quote me because I cannot remember from my days of ownership) that the ringfencing of the tax write off has been stopped and that the huge tax breaks that owners used to get no longer exists?

Thats what I remember anyway, but I'm not sure.

I think he has an ego and that he wants to be the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere, most definitely the biggest in South Africa. Having said that there is nothing wrong with what he is doing, in fact he is doing what he can to make sure the breed continues good and strong here in SA?

Does that mean I like him? No, do I respect what he is doing, absolutely!!!

I can't help but feel racing would be better off without his horses
Imagine how many more small owners will feel the exitement of winning futures

Not that I want him out completely, with all his money, he can make this the best country to race in
He can be the ONLY ADMINISTRATOR, the BIG BOSS ...MAKE HIS OWN RULES

We'll have:
Happy Owners
Happy Trainers
Happy Jockeys
Even happy grooms!
AAANNNDDD ..........HAPPY PUNTERS!!!

His investment in SA racing and breeding should be applauded imo there is no doubt that without his runners our racing would suffer, case in point at today's Clairwood meeting as is the case at most meetings...Black Toga, Unannounced,Rio Carnival,Variety Club and Trinity House
Give everything but up!

Definition of 'Monopoly'
A situation in which a single company or group owns all or nearly all of the market for a given type of product or service. By definition, monopoly is characterized by an absence of competition, which often results in high prices and inferior products.

According to a strict academic definition, a monopoly is a market containing a single firm. In such instances where a single firm holds monopoly power, the company will typically be forced to divest its assets. Antimonopoly regulation protects free markets from being dominated by a single entity.

saying jooste is good for sa racing is like saying smith is good for pe racing.....

the ammount of people that have said the following to me is well over 500

"mate, whats up with that fairview racing, all the fields have 4 or 5 horses trained by the same guy"

As a product it sucks BIG time if fields are dominated by 1 or 2 trainers or 1 or 2 owners.
