Pirates I think everyone should post under their own name and be held accountable for what they write or insinuate. It would make them think twice before writing some of the absolute rubbish that is written sometimes. Let the person/persons being spoken about have the chance to sue them if they cannot prove their statements. Then lets see who then checks their facts before making accusations that have little or no truth to them.

Heard that quote Dave............couldn't help relate it straight back to SA racing and what many posters have been saying here, for years.
The proof is in the pudding,as they say!

Craig disagree with you as regards trainer, jock etc and only the horse...for many many reasons

Hi Oscar, how much percentage wise do you think a trainer or jockey can make in race? I believe if any trainer or jockey is just competent they will win on 90%+ of horses that would win with the top trainer/jockey combination.

@ Titch -
you mean FIXTURES, not PROGRAMME.
Gauteng has two programmes per annum - Winter (5 months) - May to Sep and Summer (7 months) Oct to April.
Our Summer programme is not yet published and will be out in early Sept.

My take on the subject is that there is a certain amount of sour grapes here....whilst I agree that HA has invested heavily in the industry and wants a return on his investment hence the move one should bear in mind that he has a past record of taking extreme steps if things dont always go his way..Felix Coetzee lost the rides on his horses as did Richard Fourie (who was later reinstated) and Gerrit Schlechter was fired shortly after winning the Met on past master... this leaves little doubt in my mind that Mr Adams has a short fuse and will spit the dummy out the moment things dont go according to his plan...welcome to the world of horse ownership and whoever told you that it was going to be a smooth ride should be the target of your wrath..
1 thing you can take to the bank WP racing will not only survive but will thrive and be a major player in the not too distant future...feel free to have a go at me now as I have bookmarked this thread and will relish the chance to remind all protagonists how right I was...there were loyal owners in capetown before HA who are still there and will continue to support that center and will without a doubt reap the rewards ... racing is not for the short sighted nor the short tempered..

titch i dont know mr adams from a bar of soap but the point he makes about the lack of racing in cape town seems valid...these are the amount of races run in the season ending july 2012....gauteng 1290 natal 979 cape 737 port elizabeth 565 and kimberly 335.....now if you owned the amount of horses mr adams owns its a big difference seeing gauteng have 1291 races compared to cape 737 plus stakes in gauteng are around 20 to 30 percent more and training fees more or less the same although obviously depending who u go to.....im sure mr adams is not that stupid to believe that racing is an investment but his reasons to wanting to see his horses race is very valid

Maybe this is why we have so many Cape( and some Jhb) trainers trying to get their foot in the door here with satalite yards? The best place to race in the future and you might get Mr HA's horses!
