I am having a bit of trouble understanding this scenario.

There are 35 horses in this PA, I got this: 1 4/ 2 3 7 11/ 1 5/ 1/ 12/ 1 2/ 1 14. This totals 14 horses. I bet R100 and received R110.80 back.

Yesterday I placed this bet: 23-Aug-201215028HORSE RACINGVAAL SANDRace 1 - 4 8 9/ 1 2 3/ 1 3 4 5/ 2 5 9 12 14/ 2 4/ 1 5 7/ 2 5 9 12/Banker- 12.20 104.20 0.00-Win

There are 25 horses in this PA, I got this: 8 9/ 2 3/ 4/ 14/ 2/ 7/ 9. This totals 9 horses. I bet R104.20 and only received R12.20 back.

@ Filly.... I believe the SAND one is correct as your bet was 2.4% and doubled up 4 times to 9.6% of R118.00 .......this was a quick scan and I did not check all the numbers, just assumes that you posted the correct numbers.

Your Durbanville perm is huge and for R100 you get less than half a per cent times 35 combinations would give you roughly 17% of R640 which is pretty close to R110 .... so this does appear correct...once again just rough calculations....

Magi, the problem is that i didn't get R112.2 (roughly) they took my R104.2 and paid me only R12.20.

I`m sure Magi says your return was only 9.6% of R118 giving you your return of R12.20?

oh, lol. then i guess the moral is "play smaller pa's", doh!

Filly at a quick glance the payouts are correct with the number of selections U played.

What one must take note of is the ROI on the exoctics. What I mean is that one has to estimate what U think the PA dividend will be and then construct ur perm so that U invest less than this dividend so as to make a profit.should you be correct. Also be prepared to lose this investment.

A lot has been said about the VALUE in a bet. To me any winning bet is Value, even a place at R 1.30 gives a ROI of 30%, not per annum but for the race time. Where can one get a better return. Why outlay say R100 for a small % on the PA, with 7 legs, when you can take four R 25 ATC pace bet, or even a R100 place bet on one horse.
