Why are Phumelela so keen to take over Western Cape racing ?

I've opened this thread for the clan to post their thoughts on the underlying reasons.

To start off, in no particular order, possible reasons are

1. To monopolise the dissemination of local product to the overseas market.
2. To monopolise Tote betting in SA eventually
3. To sell Kennilworth and/ or Durbanville
4. To eliminate existing bookmaker competition and future business
5. To open a casino at Kenilworth
