just a simple question but do rain make the vaal sand slower/heavier like turf tracks or does it make the track firm/quicker?

advise will be appreciated

Chrism it used to be that immidiately after watering or rain the track runs sloooow . However after a certain time i would imagine once the water sort of seeps through then the track runs, lets call it above standard . Then there are times when the water evaporates and then it becomes that heavy slow surface . The best way to gauge it as after the running of the 1st two or three races .

Since they have thrown extra sand on , it has run very slow on two or three occasions . In the state that the track is now i reckon it needs more water.

Very difficult to gauge it at the moment !

A wee shower should make sand slightly faster, a downpour makes the sand slower..

When the bowser used to go round mid meeting at the dogs the next race after would be a faster time, but if it had rained all day the track would run slow
