Hi there. My name is ENVER. I am the world's second worst punter. (I had to brag, so I assume that there must be at least one person who is worse than me - though I have yet to hear of him/her!)

The only bet I ever won was when I backed Elevation to win the July in 1974. I won by default, because the winner, Riboville was coupled on the tote for a win with Elevation. Since then, I have with great regularity and generosity continued to contribute to the Racecourse Development Fund, the Provincial Treasury, the wages of Gold Circle Employees and latterly to the erection of that new snazzy digital video board at Greyville. Yes folks, no need to thank me, but I am certain that I singlehandedly have paid for it. There are also few bookmakers who have named their yachts and holiday homes on the French Riviera after me as well.
I was born and bred in Durban and my education was interrupted by my schooling at two of the locals schools right across the road from Greyville.
Fortunately for me, I had parents who knew as much about racing as Eskimos know about juksei and they insisted and ensured that I went to university and got a profession. The one which I did get is almost, but not quite, as noble as the bookmaking profession. We have a lot in common, i.e. we screw the public! The only material difference between my profession and the bookmaking profession is that I am forced to wear a black robe whilst I throw around archaic Latin terms whilst performing in front of judges and magistrates whilst doing so.

The greatest South African horses that I have seen are Sea Cottage and Horse Chestnut and nobody has been able to ride better than Muis the Ace, before or since.

I am hoping to have a lot of fun here interacting with fellow victims. Cheers.

Thank you. Actually I 'm old member. I just forgot to fill this section earlier.

My name is Nick, and after following this website for a long time, I thought it was time to sign up. I was punting for a while, but after buying a 50% share in a racehorse, I stepped a little bit away from the punting.

Growing up with showjumping horses in The Netherlands, this is a total different ball game! But very exciting!

It's Brian, a PE boykie born 'n bred and fairly new to this game.

My late dad won it as an "appie" on Humidor in 1933 (80 years ago this year).
His prize was a replice of the Cup which I still treasure today.
