Rather optimistic to think the Gunners can be 4th IMO
Zoro might agree

Thanks for the welcome...
I think last season we could have been optimistic when chasing spurs who looked like they were reefing for the 4th spot but our 400 to finish was outstanding..haha..
Our house is a bit in a sham at the moment, but we lost our first game only..and that I might add wasn't helped by the ref...but we will get going again..hopefully tomorow we can sneak something away and start our season again and hopefully the new signings come in soon to bolster the squad....
Who do u support dave??

I am your regular warm blooded South African male. Been given reasonable grey matter at birth and that allows me to be able to understand basic maths like 1+1 equals 2 (gosh I hope I got that right), and this also allows me to lose copious amounts of money winning just enough to keep me coming back for more. Almost like golf, where that one putt or drive down the fairway is all you remember (instead of the shot on the eighteenth when you secretly swore your buddy for whispering on your backswing)...
Been involved in racing for about 5 years now. Never liked horses doing stuff against their will, but secretly wanted to "gooi the old toffee" to the industry by exposing their cancer! At the time I started looking at horses I was contemplating a masters degree that would take up endless amounts of my personal "wine/dine/intercourse" time and cost a large heap of money...Why? It would have been egotistical studying for that degree as I never liked the subject anyway. I am a rebel, a drunk and a slight whore after all!
So I embarked on the journey of understanding the basics of horse racing, yet even that took great sacrifices of my "wine/dine/intercourse" time, but for some reason became my fight against all that was bad about our world. I wouldn't pay any tax to a corrupt government, I would never worry about retirement money, I would never have to secure my properties to have a place to live when I can't walk anymore and start shitting my pants again. I could make money while on holiday in Australia, Singapore or where the sun still shines around a certain Greenwich meridian, pertinent to my "wine/dine/intercourse" time...I would go cash and buy a safe and purchase Kruger Rands for the slightly higher value they hold due to their minting quality. I would find inconspicuous places to dig holes and stuff them with Kruger Rands, all to be exhumed when I needed the odd 100k. Largely, I would not be the poor soul driving down the N1 highway every morning and every evening for the rest of my working life doing something I hated and not spending time with my family, my dogs, my golf clubs and the odd prostitute and bottle of Jack while contemplating the absolute wonder of my natural world this side of the space time continuum.
All of this took up the first year of my understanding horse racing. Getting geared, ensuring I fully understood the key basics, the noise, the parallels to business management the money management, the bank, the stakes, the filtering, the accuracy, the mistakes, the typical chase of losses, the fall, the getting up, the wins, the emotions the friends the reaction of family, the ups the downs...luckily all known before hand and so mere stepping stones.
And without having to tell you the entire story... Here I am in year 5...having only started profiting about a year ago. My greatest enemy has been myself and not the horses or their associated information. I have wanted to ensure profit and not live a life of concern or worry. This I have achieved. There is massive room for improvement and this makes horse racing such a lovely quest for me, perhaps more than studying the anecdotes of those gone before, on theories of biological systems to as complex as quantum mechanics...being lazy searching for shortcuts, has given me the joy of horse racing and yet has been the very reason I have struggled to find the solution it...a double edged sword, that has taught me more about myself than the failed relationships or liquor induced mishaps.
Hey, I might just be pioneering a theory of my own, perhaps not worthy of Nobel prize in intellectual circles, but to the racing Fraternity, the salt of the earth, it shall be worthy and I will have achieved what Einstein deemed impossible.
Happy punting fellas!
