I grew up around computers, using my older brother’s ZX Spectrum at every opportunity and writing my first program on punch cards. In the late 80’s I went out with a horse-racing journalist and got to rub shoulders with those in the industry. Through ignorance and blind luck I caught a big jackpot and bought my first computer, a very expensive 286. Of course the first thing I did was create a program to capture racing data and spent my days typing Computaform form and results into it until I had a waist-high pile. Then I got my first job as a programmer and had to leave my obsession behind.

Fast-forward 25 years, after a successful career in business software development, I walked out of the corporate lifestyle. Not rich enough to retire I needed to create a software platform of my own (stick to what you know) and a revived interest in horse-racing seemed a natural first implementation. It didn’t take me long to realise that there is no magic program that will pop up the winners but still believe that computer analysis can be a useful tool in your arsenal. And of course money-management is essential which computers excel at. Hopefully I can create something that is useful to a punter and maybe even make a living from it.

I'm 25 and I'm a final year LLB student - done at the end of this year, also a part time waiter (and a bit of a sicko punter and poker player).

My profitable poker playing days seemed to end with the closure of 3 Piggs Poker and online poker being made illegal.
Dabbled a bit on a Silver Sands after the closure of Piggs, but the whole feeling like I was looking over my shoulder when making a withdrawal wasn't for me - together with the less than amazing poker client.

Have moderate success in live cash games but I don't play that often anymore.

I like guns, boobs and betting et al.

Looking forward to making some well informed punts with the aid of this site.
