Why why why, Jemima ... wot you min Sly? Don u lik the name or wot? At least it tells me that bad grammar (and probably spelling too) isn't only part of the SMS generation.

V1 Oh, I went down south for to see my Sal
Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day
Oh my Sal she am a spunky gal
Singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.

Chorus:
Fare thee well, fare thee well
Fare thee well my fairy fay
For I'm goin' to Louisiana for to see my Susi-anna
Sing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.

V2 Oh, my Sal she am a maiden fair
Sing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day
With curly eyes and laughing hair
Sing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.

Chorus

V3 I came to a river and couldn't get across
Sing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day
I jumped on a gator and thought he was a hoss
Sing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.

Chorus

@Mavourneen:

'Chorus:
Fare thee well, fare thee well
Fare thee well my fairy fay
For I'm goin' to Louisiana for to see my Susi-anna
Sing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day.'

As a kid in primary in Colenso, my principal was the ebulient and charismatic cricketer, SK Reddy (father of the SK Reddy who was on the national cricket board... or is?)

Every morning without fail, we stood up to sing with him 'Polly Wolly Doodle all the day!'

Amongst others 'Sarie Marais', 'Bring back...' ........................... but, Polly Wolly the daily dose!
Those were the days!

Can we ask Craig to make a bid and clanners put their 5c and R5 together? Like Hong Kong....hundred clan members holding onto a tug-of-war rope / hope?

Perhaps, minimum of R5 000 each? I'm in!
