Coincidentlly the same three individuals are climbing over themselves to get permission from Congress to intervene militarily in the affairs of a sovereign state.
Mr Putin openly accuses Terry/ KErry of lying to Congress.
Now I must add the British.Pm to that list
Thank God for the sanity of the Commons
But this time military action will be detrimental to world peace

My 5 cents worth. The use of gas cannot be left unpunished otherwise gas will be used again and again by these and other dictators, tyrants.despots or whatever you want to call these murders. These types of leaders laugh at Diplomatic efforts! What I have seen and read is that the government has now started deploying their forces into civilian areas. It is not the 1st use of gas in this conflict that has killed over 100000 people. Something must be done.

Dear Craig
There isn't evdence as yet that the government was responsible.Besides for my money that whole business purr there stinks of outside influence and interference
Off the topic Craig do you see the killing of hundreds of thousands of people by the nuclear bombing of Hiroshimo and Nagasaki forgivable

We live in a sick world and mankind will eventually destroy itself , watching the news these days Internationally and locally ( whether it be air strikes or union strikes ) its a very depressing picture for the future.
I can only hope the world does not end before Monday as I am looking forward to the day out

BH, did that not stop possibly many more being killed if that war had carried on? 60 million had been killed already.

That is comparing apples with pears Ben Hur. I for one believe the outcome of yhose two bombs was the desirable one. . .the end of a long war which was debilitating economies and decimating populations of their young men and in some cases women.
As regards Syria for me the jury is still out. I do not know enough about the facts BUT if a government is using chemical weapons on its own people. . . .it's neighbours certainly have grounds for concern.

Madji, it's more than just grounds for concern. I'm with Craig that something must be done. When psychopaths get into power - and they do, oh yes - diplomatic arguing is useless, laughable. Once psychopaths start killing they will go on and on. They don't have a conscience and find killing pleasurable, the ultimate expression of power over others.
Whether the gassing was done by the government will probably never be known for sure. But they were already showing themselves quite unmoved by the killing of civilians by other means, and gassing is just one step up - or down - down the ladder to whatever deep damnation greets such people at the bottom.

The use of Chemical waepons is outlawed by 98% of the governments of the world for a very good reason. The use of it is a crime against humanity and needs to have an outcome that will prevent its use. Whether the US goverment has the nessecary proof is not the problem in my opinion, it is the total inaction of the rest of the so called civilised world leaders to stand together and condemn its use as well as ensuring that the perpertrators are found and suitably punished , in this regard it seems only the US and France have the concience to find out.
As it has been pointed out by Craig and Mavoureen , Assad is incapable of any compassion and the sensless murder of civilians has to stop

The recent pictures of rows of dead children " not being claimed by relatives because they are all dead" was heart- breaking!
Something must be done to stop this callous brutality
