Yes Monty any sensible person would agree to the banning of such weapons
Is it a coincidence that Obama in the first instance back in 2012.suggested an intervention would be necessary if such weapons were used.Was a similar example not used when they.wanted to invade Iraq.Don't get me wrong I'm certainly not saying that these 'tyrants'
etc are any good and neither to think I enjoy thinking 'conspiracy ' at every oppurtunity .It is just that history suggests being wary of the action of the superpowers.There is much at stake here and together with the violence and instability that this region is experiencing one has to be careful not be the final catalyst for the worst scenario
This time I say if Syria is attacked an eventual 'meltdown' would not be just another Hollywood script
Capitalisms most revered 'god' is what it is all about and what is being focused on inadvertently or otherwise plays right into the hands of those very same.

Obama Denies
That He Came Up
With ‘Red Line’
on Syria

President Obama’s
memory of his mid-
August 2012 news
conference isn’t great,
as he sought today to
“ reframe ” the whole
red line on Syria
conceit by insisting
he’d never come up
with it, and that it was
actually “the world”
who said that.
The world, for what it’s
worth, never issued
any such statement,
but President Obama
definitely did , terming
chemical weapons use
“a red line for us” in
the conference, which
was just one of many
speeches in which he
threatened Assad over
last summer.
The point of all of this,
from President
Obama’s perspective, is
selling the attack on
Syria as something that
the whole planet
collectively obliged
themselves into, as
opposed to the truth of
it being something
President Obama
manufactured on his
own, and is now
claiming was crossed
on the basis of
dubious, circumstantial
evidence.
Ultimately it’s just one
part of a multi-faceted
effort to con the
American public into a
war that polls have
repeatedly shown they
just don’t want. This
includes hostile
rhetoric, phony claims
of “proof,” and
repeated references to
the Holocaust.
Visiting Sweden today,
President Obama
couldn’t help but make
a quick visit to a
synagogue with a
Holocaust memorial on
the wall, and
shamelessly likened his
own efforts to attack
Syria with the efforts
by people to save
victims from the
concentration camps.

The opposition to the Syrian regime is IMO not a coherent force and will lead to internal fighting for power and yes the ME is capable of imploding if the US do decide to attack Syria , however to sit by and do nothing will effectively condone these acts and embolden the users which in my opinion is the wrong thing to do and to be perfectly honest there is no good outcome to this.

Correct.
But it was the assistance given to these rebels by the West very early on that has to be questioned.
Yes there cannot be an outcome that would appease the suffering

Anybody that agrees with the behaviour of tyrants need only do the following....

fly to France and get yourself to Normandy. Then go to Omaha Beach after that go for a walk though the cemeteries.

Here are some reports that need to be seen in perspective (I am not a supporter of the Assad regime, as much as that of the sadist Saudi regime that legally subjects women to abuse and outlaws other religious beliefs besides their iwn form and interpretation of Islam):

1. Osama Bin Laden was a Saudi and primed by the CIA in Afghanistan against the Russians;

2. Saddam Hassan was provided with nerve gas by the CIA (recently released info);

3. The rebels are a truly disjointed lot; Islamic extremists (including Al Qaeda, Salafists, etc), secularists and opportunists;

4. Nerve gas was ordered and delivered to Turkey where the rebels have good standing;

5. The West has ignited sectarian, tribal and religious friction resulting in unbelieveable human rights violations as they settle score against one another;

6. The Syrian Muslims are regarded as heretics and moulanas from the Sunni sect actively promote hate speech and obliteration;

7. The West is there for oil/gas and to ensure Israel's security in this volatile region;

8. Just as there are two major divisions within Christianity, there are the two horns of Shias (Iran and Iraq and minorities in other ME states) and the Sunnis (the majority of the Muslim world). Amongst these again there are extreme variances; eg between and amongst Turks, Egyptians, Saudis, Pakistanis, etc Muslims);

9. Like the Bible, the Koran also states certain outlandish directives which are either ignored, watered down or enforced, depending on who pays the piper or the environment.

For instance, nowhere in the Koran or other guide books is there an injunction for women (controversy!) to cover their faces; rather, it states clearly a woman must expose her face to show her beauty but dress modestly.

10. Suicide bombers (mostly naïve, indoctrinated youngsters) are a misguided creation from the likes of AlQaeda who justify it with promise of martyrdom and a million virgins.

11. Just as it is in the interests of the ANC to keep the mass uneducated and fear (alleged threats 'your grant /pension will be cancelled!'), so within these regions with their dictators / tyrants.

If you wish to know more, Google 'An Idiots guide to Islam'.(I have the link on my PC at work; will post later).

I hope that helps; I am for peace and reconciliation, from the days of the struggle. As humans, we should behave as such... even in deference to a God that most of us believe in! Mankind is ONE!
